Good evening chaps. I need some assistance here regarding dumping my 3DS XL NAND and I've run into some issues.

I've got the latest version of win32diskimager installed to my Win7 64bit PC. I have been right-clicking and running as administrator first, then inserting the 3DS into the card reader and booting it up.

I get the blue screen boot rom error and a message pops up asking if i want to format the disk on the PC. Obviously i don't want to do that, so i disregard the message and revert to win33diskimager.

I can select the [F:] drive in the program which is my 3DS, but all the buttons (read, write etc.) are all faded and un-clickable? I don't know what the problem is here?

It's not a New 3DS for the record, so i can't imagine my particular brand of card reader is the issue. And also just a note: If i insert the 3DS before loading win32diskimager, the application has no drives available in the drop down list.

Hlp plz. Thx

did you pick the "open file" option first so it knows where you want to save the dump too

Is the 'open file' option the little button with the blue folder on it? Coz that's the only option i can see that relates to that description unfortunately :( And when i click it, there is the generic window that opens up to browse for an image file. I can use the drop down box to select *.* to search for all files. But unless i actually select a file, there is nothing i can do in this window. Thanks for your help though.

Also, would screen shots be handy? I can swing a couple through if needed :)

just navigate to the directory you want to dump to and write the filename you want to dump to in the box at the bottom and hit open, then you will be able to hit the read button to dump

Awesome, it worked!! Lol i feel like a dumbass now though LOL. Thanks a lot my friend! :)

If i just write NAND.BIN that will be sufficient, Or does it have to be .IMG file extension?

nand.bin is fine, just means you will have to change the dropdown list to show all files when it comes to restoring the nand

Hi Guys,

If I want to downgrade using the dump, does the dump need to be my own console's one?
Or is it able to use other's dump to downgrade?

Thanks so much for the help mate! Backing up all my 3DS NAND's now :)

Good to see all is good on the 3ds front. :) Well i haven't heard anything bad from you yet so i assume all is good. haha *fingers crossed*

This mod is driving me nuts
Here's pics of the mod, its consistently booting to the blue screen, and i have a compatible SD reader but its just not working, its not showing up on my computer.
The mod is messy as all fuck, should i just restart it?

Here's the album
Yeah that's a tad messy. :P 30awg kynar wire is a beautiful creation... buy some! :P
bumping with progess

completely rewired the mod, still the same result, boots into blue screen, but does not read on my computer
Using the Transcend SD reader RDP5

Most likely the card reader not playing nice, might have to get a different one.

I think the problem ended up being my soldering to those tiny as fuck points on the female microusb port. Ended up soldering directly to an sd card so i could get the mod done. Bought some other ports, so ill finish it later on

Mod finally worked though!

Hello, I bricked my 3ds by trying to inject ticket from emunand to sysnand. I tried this https://puu.sh/hEGVx/d01b14b054.jpg connected to usb card reader and took this message 3dsxl3 message.jpg

After that connected to pc removal disk showed but without asking for format. win 32 disk imager didnt detect it. After that i removed all wires but when i open the console the above message is always there

You seem to have a connection between points. Any residual solder left on the board that could be shorting it?

Try cleaning the soldering points with isopropyl alcohol.

I will try to clean the points but is there any working with hardmod good sd card reader (not china) i can find everywhere and not only in amazon or ebay?

Thanks, i will take a look
Hang on, just to be clear. You bricked your console right? So was there a blue screen upon boot before you attempted the mod? If so, the blue screen after the mod wouldnt be abnormal.

I had a similar problem where i thought the SD card reader was the issue, but my connections were actually weak. I would still recommend getting a verified compatible reader, because then you know the reader is definitely not the problem

my card reader is damaged when connected to pc with the mod touched. Now it does not recognised from windows
