Afaik frame duping is a way for the emulator to match the refresh rate of the display by duplicating frames. So for example if a game runs at 20fps, the emulator would still output 60fps but just display every frame three times. It doesn't improve performance, it just helps with frame-pacing for a smoother experience.

Ok, then that explains the performance decrease when you turn this feature on and why it performs better with a higher clock speed while turned on.

The build you think was fast did overclock memory.
I forgot to remove it when doing some comparisons.
Use docked.

Unfortunately I don't own a dock and I play it on my switch for the sole purpose of a portable experience. I have other options for playing on a bigger screen.

Yes, dont use widescreen[/QUOTE
try to change aspect raio 16:9 adjusted ... to ... 16:9 " regular "

Holy crap, not only did using 16:9 regular fix Turok 2. It fixed a weird problem in Turok 3 where the enemy would show up in a black image on the top left of the screen, AND it stopped the screen from constantly blinking in Jet Force Gemini. Maybe it would be better to have 16:9 the default instead of adjusted?

ye !!! also in other games.
anyway ...
i prefer 16:10 ( because ... " respects " the aspect ratio ... a little bit more )

I know , cool ... but .... messing up Titleid .
You can make custom title IDs for each game based on the GameFAQs Release Info,
Each game has a unique title id, for example Turok's title id is NTUE for the US release:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/n64/199130-turok-dinosaur-hunter/data
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil has title id NT2E, and so on.

You can grab the info from there and use that one to create non-clashing title ids between installs.
That's what I used to do with the WiiU as well, for the Loadiine folders

Actually the nro2nsp program let's you create a random one. Games work fine so I don't see the issue?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

technically .... do you have to give it a titleid of another existing game? right ?

No, you click a button and it makes a random one.

Welcome :)
If you use the official release data of each game, you will never meet the problem of clashing title ids in installations ever again, as each game from each console has a unique title id, even if it's the same game from different regions.
That way you can use some sort of "legit" title id for custom RetroArch NSPs.

Like here's a titleid when you open the program

05000A0000000000

click a button and get this

053CB72439840000

The odds of getting two of the same title id are astronomically low.

Not all of them, but yea many.
  • Quincy @ Quincy:
Metroid prime 4 I wouldn't be surprised if that title will be a SwitchU title (here's hoping Nintendo won't go with such a ridiculous name again)
