Guess I won't be able to use the newest patches SX OS is a must for me, I have Switch games on my external hdd.

Yeeaaaaah... Other CFWs have been a pain to support, though, might actually help to draw the line distinctly here.

Pretty high chance Atmosphere gets USB support eventually too, though.

My understanding is that since the patches are on the level of the bootloader...i.e. The thing that boots the fw, SXOS external payload would not work as TX uses its own bootloader (anyone correct me if Im wrong) to implement these patches you need to use Hekate though beyond this im not sure if which cfw you would launch would matter but based on the mx4w's comments to utilize the patches one would need to boot atmo using hekate. Good news is that presumably TX could add the patches to thier bootloader.

It already does have USB support (all CFWs do actually) and its had it for awhile, homebrew apps can use it for various shit, idk how advanced it is though. Atmosphere will NEVER get support for loading games from usb though

Kernel patches just go in a folder while booting hekate, like you always would. You're just running CFW, slightly more patched than before, shouldn't change anything.

Thanks for the response! So you inject hekate payload, and then use hekate to boot CFW? Does it matter what CFW you use?

Something like that? I recommend just using Kosmos since everything is mostly set up there. Use a computer or Android device to inject hekate_ctcaer_4.6.bin, if it's set up well just hit CFW (or CFW and FTP). You can boot other things, but definitely use Atmosphere (which is just CFW in Kosmos), if you want to use those patches.

I'm curious if you mean "Kosmos" and not "kronos"
Just wondering bc I haven't heard of kronos and tried googling it to see what you're talking about.

So I can’t use kernel patches if I boot ReiNX from hekate?

Ah, yes, sorry! I have trouble thinking of the package as anything other than SDFiles, heh. Should have double checked... Edited my post in case anyone else reads that first.

ReiNX is just an older build of Atmosphere with some extra patches (though they might be included now?).

So when the new hekate comes out with kernel patches I’m best off switching to Amosphere, then, right?

Is switching tricky? Does Atmosphere have sig patches? I don’t know anything about Atmosphere.

kosmos (atlasnx) is just atmosphere with sigpatches.

I actually switched myself 2 days ago to kosmos from reinx.

edit: here check out the page for yourself

Games still play like crap for me. :(

Did you use the recommended configurations? Are you using old cfg settings that apply to the older version of mupen and not the "next" version?

When you say crap, what specifically do you mean?

Have you been able to make those textures work? Is there any tutorial?
