Don't forget to turn off DNS settings before you update, if you update system through system settings.
Er, why? I genuinely don't know. If he has al9h then shouldn't it be fine to just leave it as is and update when needed?

Yes...okay i managed to update to 6.5 Luma just now. So i should be got to do a system update through settings without messing with the CFW on the newest 11.2.0-35U
Sweet it worked i'm now on 11.2.0-35U anyway to speed up the boot up time?? It usually takes 30 secs to boot up into the main menu

I'd suggest moving emunand to sysnand...but it could be a little tricky. I haven't done it yet, but I just don't care. In that 10-30-second window, I clean my system with my official Nintendo cleaning cloth. Have to keep those ips screens clean.
30 secs? Too boot into Pokemon? Mine takes about 8-9 secs after the 3DS logo goes black. It may be because I set the N3DS CPU to "Clock+L2" in Luma Settings. You can try that out
Just hold select upon boot and you should see it as "New 3DS CPU"

Moving emuNAND to sysNAND is the easier than it sounds lol.
I still don't get it. I might be dumb but if he has al9h he shouldn't get update nags because he should be on the latest version anyways.
He can't play online. Ctr-httpwn is of no use to him, as he is master-raced. Other than literally updating the game he wishes to play, there would be no nags, unless he went into 'friends', 'internet', or tries to play online.

Open Luma settings on boot, turn Splash screens to either before or after payloads on. It's at the top of the Luma settings.I am able to play online now since i updated Luma and updated in system settings
