Hacking n00b here needs help with apps

Hello everyone again! So I was reading about some stuff, and I just ordered my 2gb flash card, my R4DS, and my expansion pack.

Now what do I have to do to start playing games, and get the browser, and the other cool stuff?

well i lied i didnt order the expansion as im not sure which to get. I'm thinking the 3-in-1 cause it's cheaper and I only need it for the browser I think.......... anyone have any other uses for it? I don't play GBA games.

yea, i can download anything i want, games and apps whatever, but i need to know how to get it on my ds. Is there anything I need to do initially when I get all of my stuff in the mail?

Get the latest firmware from www.r4ds.com and copy+paste everyhting to the root of the card.

After that, just drag and drop apps/games/homebrew in and you're ready to roll

I'm guesing the Kernel is the firmware?

In this situation they are synonymous.

But for movies on your DS, you will have to convert them to .dpg format first, either using DPGtools or Batch DPG. DPGtools is included with moonshell 1.71. Then you can play them on moonshell.
