My wii wont turn on after the power flickered. Any advice?

First, try another outlet, including outlets in other rooms.
If that doesn't get the Wii to power on, then unplug the power supply (the usually grey brick between the wall outlet and your Wii) from both the outlet and your Wii for 5-10 minutes, and then plug it back in to try again.
No dice? Get a new power supply, and see if that helps.

I just looked and it doesn't seem like it (note: the reason I asked is because in the UK ours do and I'm not familiar with the Canadian variant).

Are you able to check the voltages coming out of the power supply, it should be 9V.

So it failed to boot with those things inserted, and once you removed them now it will boot?
