One way to almost certainly fix it would be to rebuild the vWii using vWii Decaffeinator. There's a guide here as well, however you will lose all of your (vWii) data: https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/recover-vwii-ioses-channels

Game mods are fine, so as long as it doesn't contain copyrighted material. They must be made as patches and not the physical ROMs.+2
