Mine broke, but to be honest it doesn't bother me in the slightest - just pull the card in out manually without the 'springiness' or 'clickiness'. Never had any problem whatsoever with read issues etc so not fussed - it's essentially like I already have the spring free version, even though the spring itself is still in there somewhere.

same here

it doesnt matter for all new R4's purchased from now on because they redesigned the card so there is no longer a spring. I just tested mine and it fits well. It remind me a lot of the EZ Flash V MicroSD slot. Almost identical except the R4 is still a top loading MicroSD slot-1 card. The ez Flash V has a side slot. Also the new R4 no longer has the plastic strips at the bottom of the card. All you see is the bottom part of the board similar to the G6 Real. Ive tested mine for a few days now and everything seems to be fine.

While the spring in my M3Simply performs quite well, the contacts on the cart have gotten flaky after 6+ months. It takes sometimes 3-5 tried to get the DS to recognize the cart is inserted. Then, sometimes during a long gaming session (2+ hours), the game may freeze. I think that's due to the memory card coming loose from it's contacts.

So there can be other problems, besides a bad spring...

Are these problems with the micro SD cards common with all micro reader devices? I ask as this is my first micro SD card and have never had a problem with any of the SD card reader or devices I have used for many years.
