The thing is I have no clue on how to install unbuntu along side my Windows 7 and OS X 10.6.2 using chameleon as a bootloader, I would install linux but i really don't want to mess up my current setup, that and I have no idea how to use linux

Ah, on my triple boot setup I use Grub (linux boot loader) instead of Chameleon. I'm actually working on getting Chameleon to work on my system right now ^^; As for the "Why not Windows 7?" comment: I'm a Computer Science major. I have to code a ton, and Windows is the weakest of the three platforms when it comes to that. On a 1024x600 screen, being able to customize every last pixel of Linux's UI really helps.

Also, Pine Trail doesn't have a performance improvement, it just gives better battery life (and slightly less video performance).

Oh yeah if you don't want to mess up your pc you could download virtual pc and install ubuntu on a Virtual computer , your don't mess up anything with your pc . you can download / mess up everything without your pc is being killing .

umm but is the atom powerful enough to do that?

I did this on my intel pentium 4 HT @ 2,93 ghz and it runned great... Virtual pc uses 1/3 of your pc .. Yes your atom would be able to do it i should think , but it should be slow ..

Really not worth doing it on an atom as it's a really slow cpu, and defeats the purpose of running linux. If windows crashes, your virtual box is going down anyway.

Yeah, you'd probably want to avoid running a virtual machine on an Atom processor. You usually need at least 2 cores for that to work decently.

GRUB (installed by default on modern Linux Systems) will actually load chameleon if you install it to your OS X partition. At least it did when I set mine up, but I haven't use my OS X partition in months.

I run virtualbox on my Dell Mini 10v with an Atom N270 and 1 GB of RAM.
It handles it OK, I'd recommend 2 GB of RAM, though.

GRUB (installed by default on modern Linux Systems) will actually load chameleon if you install it to your OS X partition. At least it did when I set mine up, but I haven't use my OS X partition in months.

With the recent release of Grub2, loading OS X kind of breaks. It's actually better to install Grub to the Ububtu partition and have Chemeleon chainload it. Chemeleon 2 looks nicer anyways ;D. Getting all three OSes to play nice can be annoying, but if you set it up when you first get your machine it's not like you have any data to loose if something goes wrong.

I have the Dell Mini 10 here. You'd think Dell would name the 10 and 10v differently as they have very different hardware. Unfortunately I can't even upgrade my ram as it is soldered directly to the board. :/

I hear with the 10v you can however.

I would recommend playing Plants vs Zombies on your netbook, I'm pretty sure you will be able to play it, plus its really fun
