Today I was rejected from the best school in the country though I aced the assessment big time... That is because of the lack of availability of spaces.
That means I am DEFINITELY going back to my old school, which is shit and is only still open due to bribery. Since I live in the middle of nowhere, I don't have a choice.
My social life ain't anything. I permanently deleted my facebook account (not deactivate, it was a long procedure) because I was basically forever alone stalking people.
And now... I only have one friend. Literally just one, who likes me enough, but doesn't ACT like she does. It's sad. To my "buddies", I'm probably just a reference book or something.
I also think I have no future. Currently, I'm acing every subject. (My year's total average is 95) But when it comes to what job I'll have or what I want to study, NOTHING interests me, and my parents won't let me move out of the HOUSE, so the options are limited.
My gaming life is nothing special. I've got the Pirate's Syndrome again, only this time it's happening with original games. I have thousands I haven't completed, and I'm forcing myself to finish Pokemon Black before finishing the others, but (sorry Gamefreak!) Pokemon Heartgold, Soulsilver, Black, and White are the WORST games on earth. What happened to the people who made D/P/Pt? Those were really great.
It's still only like the 2nd week into summer, but I'm dying. No, I don't wanna go to school, but I don't wanna sit around here doing nothing either.
WoW is helping me pass time, but it still gives me that "lazy summer" feeling, which is REALLY bothering me.
Any advice guys? Thanks for reading.

I get like this from time to time. You've got to keep your faith in the better things in life. Focus on what you love, and don't let anything stand in your way. Take me for example. I'm in a job I hate that always leaves me struggling for money every month. The girl I love is thirteen thousand miles away. My best friend is about to leave the city forever for the other side of the country. My little brother has just lost an eye thanks to a dick head at his school throwing a stick into his eyeball. Life kinda blows right now. Do you know how I deal with it? Simple.

1) I remember that even if my friends are miles away, they're still my friends. Sian may well be on the other side of the planet but I know that she's there for me when I need her, the same way I'm there for her. Distance is nothing.

2) I remember that I've seen life better than this. I've seen things that make life worth living. Worth fighting for. That sparkle in a loved one's eyes when they smile at you. Walking past the tennis club down the road and seeing a group of gorgeous 19 year old girls in those tight white tennis outfits. Finding a tenner in my jeans that I can't account for. Don't forget the little joys in life.

3) In the words of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, consider how fortunate you are that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life HASN'T been good to you so far, consider how lucky you are that it won't be troubling you much longer.

4) Consider all the ways in which your life could be worse, then be thankful that whatever you've ended up with is pretty mild by comparison. Example, you're feeling lonely and depressed. At least you're not on fire. Imagine for a brief moment the agony of actually being on fire. Then be thankful that you're not. Helps to keep perpective.

Sport?

I'm afraid that's not quite possible when the weather is like 42-43 Celsius outside. :/

Wow... inspirational.
Thanks

#3 and 4 are the most convincing.
So.. this feeling is just a temporary thing, right?
I mean I only started getting this feeling this year, and I'm telling you, it's visiting me REALLY often..
All I'll do at the moment is hope for the best. Thanks again.

It's so great that you are optimistic for once more! Darmanitan, follow his advice. He has been through some tough shit...

Pick up something new. Like someone said above, a sport, or maybe an instrument.

It won't change your life, but it's fun, productive, time consuming (If you make it to be), and you can meet new people with it.

well something like this happened to me
i finish't school with some great grades for a boy 8/10,so i registered for my 2 master in the capital but hell i didnt won,
so lets find a job .......well not that easy, the only job that i found was ....like "wrong" the boss said that for hire me he should have to fire someone else ......hell no ,better without that with someone else job.

Epic +1 to that.

"Empty"? You don't know the meaning of the word.

Try being a success, a prodigy almost. Dropping out of high school, building a business in the field you are enthralled by. You have a dozen people working for you by the time you would have graduated, and love doing what you do.

Then it's all gone. It's taken away.

NAY. You gave it away. You made one idiotic, cocky mistake that costs you everything you've built. You don't even have the ability to blame anyone else for what occurred. You have nothing.

Now you sit there. An hollow shell of a man. You have such a disdain and hatred for almost everyone you come into contact with that any attempt at socialization is completely futile.

You had everything, and you gave it away.

That is despair. That is an "empty life".

Take solace in the fact that you haven't reached "game over" as I have.

Thats quite poignant Urza. Still, very defeatist.

I'm the child of a drug addict and a drunk. I've lived and seen things I would have rather not. I'm certainly scarred for the ordeal. I've spent time in a mental ward. I dropped out as well, but I did so without any prospects on the horizon, save for suicide. The last grade I actually completed was 6th, elementary school.

Still I pushed through it. Slowly. I'm working on my college degree now and I'm 24. Sure, I'm behind schedule but more importantly I am not defeated. I have kept going.

I suggest you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back to walking the path. Whatever path it is you desire to travel. Believe me, it's not too late.

And to the OP, take heart; it could be worse.

You could just "Pop" in another coin and continue. Businesses can be rebuilt, renewed, and started over. What differentiates you from many people Urza is the fact you're smart, you have business sense and the know how. You wish to get out of that hole, then start climbing. Complaining about it only gets you so far before action becomes the correct course. I've always felt sorry for you, but I've always wondered why you haven't picked yourself back up. Mistakes are made daily, and by people bigger than you.

@Darmaitan: Things always are the darkest before the light hits. You fall, you get back up. You stumble, you continue. The pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness is not always easy, and the best part isn't the destination, it's the journey.

I've long since given up, and am merely "hanging around" until what I have left runs dry and I'm unable to pay the rent.

My only purpose here was to provide the OP with an anecdotal fate worse than his own.

Why? Don't just give up man. It's not going to be the end of the world if the world loses you, but it always hates to lose someone bright.

Go slit the fucker that did that's throat for me.

And Darmanitan, the rest of his advice is awesome. So follow it.

(P.S. I fell asleep and this was open in another tab so I apologize for my shit wording.)

I think he's being sarcastic.

Sports are impossible in a place where the temperature is like 42-43 Celsius.
As for instruments, I do play the piano quite professionally, so I'll just download a bunch of notes off the internet. Thanks.

Nah I've always seen the glass as half-full, but I'll definitely try being a bit more positive about everything going on right now.

I've always been thankful for what I have, and I know that there are people out there in conditions much worse than mine, and your example up there really helped.
I'm really not saying that the whole world must pity me or anything like that. It's just more of.. me seeking advice on how to keep my life rich.
Urza, even I would advise you to get back up to where you were in life. If you were once what had become a prodigy, then you can always be that prodigy again.
Start the way you started last time, give it another go. What has been destroyed can be built again. (well, in most cases)
