My first logo

I made thes for Phillyman a while back. He wanted something for a retro games site. What do you think?

They're the concept pics, but the finished one is pretty much identical (he went for the first one)

Wow, how'd you make the background for the second one? Stoled it or generated it?

Looks stolen considering how detailed it is... not saying you couldn't have done that but its more likely to save time.

I like the logo design, but IMO the backgrounds doesn't look retros at all .... meh what do I know?

Yeah, I stoled it. It's an abstract wallpaper and I zoomed in on a section.

I tried going 100% retro but I wasn't happy with them. They just didn't grab the eye, if you know what I mean. A logo needs to grab your attention, so I decided to try combining retro with modern (but not too modern). I think I pulled it off

The first one I did had megaman, link and a mario mushroom, but it just looked like the thousands of other retrogame logos.
