yes, you can use custom sounds but you need to convert .mp3 to .wav using a program like Audacity with a sample rate of 8000hz and a bit depth of 16 then use J-Runner to convert .wav to .bin; then you can use that .bin to flash the sound using Soft Sonus.

Ahhh, Youtube comments confirm that it is working on BadUpdate since it is not part of the NAND. The speaker has its own chip which is flashed.
