My avatar, messed up it is.

Ok before xmas my avatar was just fine, nice and square though after I changed it to an xmas avatar which OrangeGamer kindly made for me it went long and skinny. Now that I have changed my avatar back it is long and skinny D: I have tried uploading directly from my computer and also using it on photobucket. Can someone please help me?

When you upload your avy, it should have two boxes. They are the width and the height.
Check the properties of the normal (not tall and skinny) avy. Look at the width and the height on the properties. So if its 100x100 in size, type in 100 in the width box and 100 in the height box.
