Mupen Question

I'm using mupen64plus AE and have the latest google play store version of 2.4.4. However I've heard there are beta versions newer than this. Is this the case? And if so can someone provide me a link to where the betas are. Thanks.

Also do the newer beta versions provide improved game compatibility? I can't get Mario Tennis and Golf, as well as Dr Mario to work without significant graphical hiccups.

Neither of those games play well.

I suggest you use n64oid which can be downloaded online as its not on the play store

I believe version 2.4.4 was released in early 2014. Why has there been such a long delay for a new release? With game compatibility still not near 100 percent I would think occasional updates wouldn't be unrealistic to expect.

Also since N64oid is just a port of Mupen, with some tweaks, is game compatibility that much better?

I pretty much assumed as much. Supposedly a new version of n64oid, version 2.8, is being beta tested. This was about a year ago though, so I'm assuming it wont be publicly released.

Disagree there are differences as N64oid has better speeds (I only got 12 fps on conker on mupen but full speed on n64oid)

Did you try another video plugin? IIRC Conker ran pretty well on my phone.

Yep I tried em all but n64oid work by far the best and it does work much better than mupen64 which worked awful.

Were you able to get Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Dr Mario and Banjo Tooie working without any graphic issues?

Mario golf - worked fine but background is black and unplayable

Mario tennis - works fine for me

Dr Mario - major background issues

Banjo tooie - works fine

Also try super n64 and mega n64 if n64oid give you trouble
