Nice! I really like this media player

It would be amazing if we could play DVD movies from a USB memory stick - either as iso's or extracted as a bunch of vob- and ifo-files.

? You mean playing files (Songs, Movies) from a ISO9660-DVD? This works for me without any hiccups, or slowdowns, so perfectly.

@v0.3: I'm happy that my artwork was acceptet by AgentX. Many Thanks at him for giving me this chance, to contribute something for this great project !!!

yeah data dvd read speed is fairly good, you wouldn't notice any difference to using a data dvd player/recorder I have a data player/recorder at home and their isn't much difference.

that was ur artwork? its AWESOME! anyways... yah i was talking about movies... like i could fit so many movies on a dvd as data. but with regular dvd, i can only store one. so i am guessing it runs without hiccups?^ also i would just press + to go to the next movie right? i dont suppose there is a list of the vids on the dvd so i can choose which vid i want to play?

Burn a "data dvd" with like say maybe 5 divx's on, insert in wii, boot mplayerce, open file, WII DVD, it will mount, and then you press A on whatever divx you please, Press B to bring menu up again, press A for next movie you select, etc...

Thank you guys! My issue (Issue #13) got fixed in 0.3!

You're GREAT

Hello , what do i need to do to play DVDS ? i have a wii with 3.4 on it + wiikeyv2

I read somewhere that i need to install DVDX ? but i see on the website : http://wiibrew.org/wiki/DVDX

If you have a modchip, you may need to install PatchMii core
and ....
PatchMii uses the signing bug, and therefore does not work properly with the October 23rd update. Additionally, the System Menu 3.4 update includes a "dummy" IOS254, blocking PatchMii installation.

?

so in other words , i cannot install patchmii ?

superb, play well? does GeeXbox play that file ok, as iv'e got HD files which GeeXbox can't even handle, and MPlayer can. codecs are a fickle thing.

Gotta say this is a great update...nice to see Blue-K's artwork in there too!

Still have some 40MB mkv's that won't load, but not too worried about that!

Cheers men!yeah their are some video files rez that aren't supported, theirs quite a few on GeeXbox aswell.

Yes you need patchmii core installation, never no though, might work with DVDX only, but i doubt it.

It plays really well on MPlayer-CE 0.3, instead on GeeXbox it has a lot of frame dropping

You're great, guys

i have an issue with viewing data on a DVD. i got a few avi files on a dvd, when i go to browse DVD, i can hear the dvd spinning but nothing shows up on the menu. i've let it spin for a while, but nothing happens.

is there something i'm missing or should know? i have all the files on root.

thanks in advance, i'm very happy with this player.

i'm using a DVD- (if that matters)

EDIT: Never mind it works, i didn't have DVDX installed.

I tried every possible configuration of IP and user and pass. No luck.

Then the obvious hit me. Do smb shares only work with WIRED connection from Wii to PC? If so I think I found my problem. If not, I'm basically prepared to burn a lot of DVDs. Thanks to everybody for all the help.

Everything else works great for me! Videos look great in all display settings, framerates are smooth, DVD load time is quick... But I think the internet radio is by far my most used feature. Sound quality is way better than my PC speakers.
