I tried it out and MPlayer gets an error when I try to read the shared folder.
I put my computer's IP address and the folder names in the SMB.conf, and the folders are shared on my network. I don't know what my problem is. I can connect my Wii and PC with ftpii flawlessly.

Suggestions?

Can't wait for the next version...you've done exactly what I needed..fix the HD-Videos

. Hope it comes out soon

!!! Maybe it will also fix the small of-sync I have with big files...let's wait and hope

Has anyone had success using this version of mplayer w/ an SDHC sd card?

I have a 4gb Kingston SDHC Class 4 SD card and the latest mplayer-ce won't even load. The screen just goes black when I try to load it through HBC.

Still not working. I give up.

Did you try this? Worked for me!

QUOTE(madtamski @ Feb 22 2009, 08:40 PM) For those not having much luck with the samba problem...

I couldn't get mine working either, but eventually did by setting the NT Access rights on the shared folder to allow "Everyone" read and execute access.

This worked for me both in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Right-click folder, then pick "Security", "Advanced", "Change Permissions", "Add", "Advanced", "Find now", then pick "Everyone", then give read permissions.

It helped me, hopefully it'll help those having problems!

Cheers

Thanks go out to Ludovic Orban and Blue_K!

Samba works/worked for me no problem with MPlayerCE v0.21d and earlier versions..but with anything after the v0.21d i cant get it to connect at all...

Edit:
By the way...feel like an idiot for having to ask since it was working before...lol

Thanks for the help but its not working still. =/

Maybe I should just give you guys my info since I'm probably making the mistake here.
Win XP. No user name, no password.
My router tells me my LAN IP is 192.168.2.1
My computer tells me my IP is 192.168.2.10
Folder name "Movies"
Set to share on network. Windows Firewall allows this share
#Samba share1 (smb1:/)
ip1=192.168.2.1
share1=Movies
user1=
pass1=

Folder name "Music"
Set to share on network. Windows Firewall allows this share
#Samba share2 (smb2:/)
ip2=192.168.2.1
share2=Music
user2=
pass2=

Is that right?

I did. But I disabled it.
Does it matter if I have it turned off and only one user account on my comp?

--edit--

I tried using my disabled username and password. still no luck

the error message I get is

error reconnect smb...
it says the same thing for the shares with no information in them.

Was I supposed to delete all of the extra text at the top of the smb.conf? So that only the #Samba... are present? If so that's my problem.

--2nd edit--
That didn't work either.

Would having another computer on my wireless network cause a problem?

No, your using XP right? check if your router has firewalls etc stopping sharing.

CODE#Max 5 samba shares (review menu.conf to add more samba browsing)
#no ip or no share means samba disabled

#Samba share1ÂÂ(smb1:/)
ip1=
share1=
user1=
pass1=

#Samba share2ÂÂ(smb2:/)
ip2=
share2=
user2=
pass2=

#Samba share3ÂÂ(smb3:/)
ip3=
share3=
user3=
pass3=

#Samba share4ÂÂ(smb4:/)
ip4=
share4=
user4=
pass4=

#Samba share3ÂÂ(smb5:/)
ip5=
share5=
user5=
pass5=

unsure about that, I doubt it, try putting your user name in the user field, and for password put =0

The only things I can see causing a issue, your folder isn't shared, maybe anti virus program causing a problem, firewall or protection on sharing on router, or the IP is incorrect.

but without a password on user account, you can leave them fields blank, just use share and IP only.

But for the smb I'm supposed to put the PC IP right?
Yes. Which if I read correctly above is 192.169.2.10 not 192.168.2.1? :S
