Thank you guys! My issue (Issue #13) got fixed in 0.3!
You're GREAT
EDIT: OMG! No more lag issues or framedropping! On a uber-huge HD .mkv!
You're AWESOME

superb, play well? does GeeXbox play that file ok, as iv'e got HD files which GeeXbox can't even handle, and MPlayer can. codecs are a fickle thing.

QUOTEIt plays really well on MPlayer-CE 0.3, instead on GeeXbox it has a lot of frame dropping

You're great, guys
cool, there will be some formats, certain codecs that are not supported by either player.
But MPlayer is coming on a bundle

I must add

h264 is too hard
also ac3 for dvd-video is hard too

Due to wii CPU power really, we can try to get lower quality in them cases

Does mplayer-ce have to have a vaild cIOS249 installed?

Because any version of this mplayer-ce, or the last mplayer v0.07 just won't load.

I've tried 2 different sd cards (both sdhc, and both have been formatted twice). Some other homebrew work, but mplayer-ce will never ever load.

The radio station was a nice addition, how can add more stations? I´m interested in japanese ones.

Oh a TV broadcast stream could be incredible.

If someone makes a forwarder channel, please upload it. The wad channel updater "fails to initialize properly" so I cannot use it. Thanks.

Well I answered my own question. mplayer-ce and many other homebrew have to have a valid cios installed to run.

However, has anyone successfully gotten smb to work w/ a Vista share?

If mplayer-ce reports logs or what have you please tell me devs and I'll post 'em here.

No it doesn't it's all that crap installed that most likely causes problems, otherwise your SD is at fault.

Hello,

Do i need to install DVDX to play dvds? I have a wii with a modchip (wiikey2) and 3.4u ??? Or do you only need DVDX with an unmodified Wii?

Because i read that there is no way to install DVDX and Patchmi on a wii system with 3.4 ...

Can any help me?

Yes you REQUIRE DVDX, if it doesn't work, after installing DVDX on 3.4 YOU REQUIRE PATCHMII CORE. therefore have to downgrade somehow.

Please read up on the wiki on how to edit configs! .pls and .m3u streams work only.

Something must be screwy with my Wii then because mplayer-ce would not load at all on 3 different sd cards (2 sdhc, 1 regular). But when I was finally able to install cIOS249-IOS36-rev07.wad mplayer-ce suddenly loaded perfectly!

I will go back to the beginning of this thread and see who has gotten Vista shares to work. Thx.

sometimes my wii just locks up after about 40min of watching a vid over smb. tried to reproduce the error but haven't been able to. i have no idea what's the problem.

a few have mentioned this, looking into it. the new smb change is obviously causing a problem.

Well, I checked all 19 pages of this thread, and the Wiki page, and I for sure have my smb.conf setup properly.

Is there a way to tell Samba the workgroup name on my network? I know it has nothing to do w/ mplayer-ce but my Vista shares work on XBMC and I specify the workgroup, then the pc name, then the share name, then the user/pass.

I cannot change the folder name ?
When I change the folder name, mplayer doesn't work......

fix it please....
What? "why" would you try changing the folder, it says "Not to rename"
If "you" want the folders name to be changed, "you" get hold of the source, and "change the paths" to a different specified folder name.

Like it says, change the folder, MPlayerCE will not work.
