i tried 4 and couldn't stand it went back to 3. everything was just too messy and out of place

Not to mention all the crashes and hoe temperamental it was about rendering php pages (several forums I belong to would render normally one day and the next be totally f**ked up whereas IE had no issues whatsoever. 5 has got to be an improvement.


EDIT:Just got me a download of the Beta and so far after testing sites that were a intermittent problem for 4 seem to work in 5 but it is a little slower (it is a beta after all). I'll give it a try for a while before going back to 3.16

Use Nightly Tester Tools to force compatibility. Most FireFox add ons are still compatible, it's rare if Mozilla will allow them to work in future versions when they haven't been released it to prevent any unforseen problems.

As far as "Them working on 5 too fast":

They spent nearly a year fixing and tuning up 4, they provided a release candidate when they finalized the majority of what they wanted FireFox 4 to become. If this is the case, this implies that the only work to be done on 4 are bug fixes and maybe slight enhancements. What else would Mozilla do, sit around? I am guessing any major development in FireFox will be put in 5 and similar to 4, be released in about 1 year.

I've also had nothing but positive experiences with FF4, although I kind of wish the author of the Taboo addon updated it to work with 4 (I like to use it because it's like bookmarking, but somewhat better). I'll give this a try later and see what's up with it.

i have not seen any issue with 4 nor did i do so for 3.6. Chrome is nice but i dont like the show everything interface although it seems faster to me. After all, its made by Google (they rule the world dont they?)

Use the nightly tester tools add on to disable compatibility checks and enable it yourself. I am pretty sure the differences in 3 and 4 won't cause anything to be unstable.

I've never had any Youtube ads as long as I've had AdBlock Plus installed. Did you subscribe to the right lists and what not?

the best add-blocker i can think of is admuncher (paid, but there is a 30 day trial)

i've never seen a ad in any website after i got admuncher.

Hm... I haven't tried changing my subs list. I'll do that now.

+1 Using Chrome for a while (before going back to FF3) reminded me that there are YT-ads in the first place

You should really check those lists. Maybe you are in the wrong one, though I don`t know which is the right one tbh

That's weird. I actually forgot YouTube has ads because I've been using ad block plus for so long. Did you use the Fanboy's list subscription filter?
