Following its rapid release cycle, Mozilla has released the Firefox 5 beta for Windows, Mac and Linux. After five weeks of testing Firefox 5 in the Aurora builds, first beta of the Firefox 5 is now available for public download. Firefox 5 beta brings several performance and stability fixes, easy channel switching, support for the new CSS Animations standard and more.

Along with the beta for desktop, Mozilla has also dropped Firefox 5 beta for Android devices. The new beta brings support for Do Not Track feature, improved performance, smoother scrolling and many other bug fixes. Firefox for Android is compatible with devices running Android 2.0 or later.

The final version of Firefox 5 for both desktop and mobile will be released on June 21.

Download Firefox 5 beta for Windows, Mac and Linux from here. Android users can get the beta from Android Market.

whenever I try to search for firefox on the market or download it from the website on my htc wildfire i can't find it :S

Nice, hopefully FF 5 turns out to be a bit more stable and than FF 4 because that just keeps on crashing here....
Glad to hear they really pump out releases now, with something new/fixed in every version.

Because Firefox doesn't work on your phone so it doesn't show up.
Try not having a last year entry level smartphone.

I'll stick to Chrome.

Although I have both installed.
Me too, since Chrome is much faster and better than Firefox.

chrome is the best

Great argumentation guys. Also good way to respond in a firefox-update thread. Why even bother replying to this topic at all?
Noticing my internet-sarcasm?

I agree but there is one crucial thing that is not properly integrated in Chrome that keeps me from using it: No proper adblock in videos!

After using FF for many years with adblocker+ I tried Chrome and imo it is the better browser and all the add-ons where also in some form available on Chrome but if you get used to not seeing any ads on the internet you cannot go back to watch a vid-ad before watching a vid...

I´m still on FF3, since FF4 somehow slows down on my system when watching videos, which doesn`t happen with FF3 or Chrome.

For everyone saying Chrome is better than Firefox, I'd like you to try blocking ads on Chrome. If you find a way to block ads on, say, BlogTV.com, please message me.

Weird, FireFox 4 is better on my computer than 3 was. My computer's fan isn't constantly roaring or anything like that. Ever since I installed FF4, it's been nothing but quiet and faster loading of the Browser.

So many sites have ads on them now it's ridiculous. IGN, GameTrailers, Kotaku, GameSpot, YouTube, FACEBOOK. Those are just the ones I frequent and it's nice not having ads on them anymore.

When I installed FF4 I even installed it completely fresh (deinstalled everything from FF3 and then reinstalled everything for FF4)...

Youtube and Facebook have ads?!?
Haha, ya

Also just tried FF5b and I had the same problem I`ve had with FF4: videos slow down the browser. Back to FF3...

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Firefox 4. It's sleek, it adequately blocks ads, it allows for more customization of the browser, and it doesn't have display issues like Chrome does. I am happy to see that the quality of Firefox has been combined with the frequent updates of Chrome.
