What are some other websites that someone who love this one might like?

It might seem a bit excessive but I like to check this site everyday. Beyond that I also check a certain site I can't mention about "compact discs and romance." Mostly because it keeps up to date with new translations and romhacks. Then there is "Fan Translation News" and Romhacking.net. Other than that Gamebanana and Nexus mods.
Are there any other sites you could recommend that someone who visits these types of places might be interested in?

I often browse some wiki-style sites about games and consoles, there are a lot.
But some of them suddenly stopped updating one day. Either it no longer supports old system browsers, or it has blocked Chinese IPs...

I hate it, but most of the old web has gone. Social media killed it.

There's a German-language site where people used to do some console hacks, but its name escapes me. As I recall it was gate-kept against non-Germans.

The only other surviving site that immediately comes to mind that has loads of specialist knowledge shared is doom9.org, but it's for video things not video games. Myce used to be unmatched for optical media topics (including game rips), but it's gone now.

Not all the old web is gone, and thanks to the enshitification of social media, a lot of people are coming back to the "old web" style, and imho this is a good thing.

Places like Gbatemp are still the best way to socialize with peopel that share the same interests.

CDFreaks/Myce used to be the go-to place for optical media topics, such as recommendations on burners and recordable media, info on copy protection and software. Unfortunately, there's been quite some drama when the site closed down. Myce was sold to some unknown buyer to whom they did nothing with it but turn it into a spam news site with completely unrelated topics to media. The old staff tried to get in touch with the buyer (got no response). It got to where the domain owner of the forum didn't see an incentive to keep the forums up anymore. And it's a shame that it's gone because that is where I learned about these topics in general.
