I was having this trouble too. Installed base and 1.02 with goldleaf usb but i decided to try devmenu for 6.2 eventhough Im on 8.1 and i used devmenu to reset mortalkombats requirements. Went straight back to menu, started the game and well, it worked! I was able to load the game and then canceled when they asked for linked account and i was able to plat. Just passing the info now to help others. Didnt try 1.03 and above though. Good luck.
