Yes, but i think of them like Windows 95. Nobody uses them anymore, unless they are clueless.

Except that you're wrong....plenty of people are currently using 4.01 at the moment to bypass the recent security fixes....

Hmm... Anyone have a list of those CFWs? My friend wants to hack his PSP, but doesn't want to risk updating it to 6.10 by accident when he goes to update his PSP. He wants some way to hack it without having to use a Pandora.

You can't update to 6.10 by accident, unless you have the 6.10 OFW update on your psp.

stab244 unless you can provide more details about your friends PSP then who knows if it's capable of any sort of alternative firmware.

He says it's on 3.03 right now. If he was to do a Network Update, would it go straight to 6.10 or would it go firmware by firmware until it reaches the newest one?

The former. Get the 5.03 official firmware eboot update to 5.03 and then use either use Chickhen to enable you to run Hellcats Recovery Flasher to flash 5.00M33-6 (you'll need the 5.00 firmware eboot too) or use Chickhen to run OSPBT to make a Pandora Battery and then make a standard MMS using Rain's Ultralite GUI.
