TWEWY = imo, a really bad RPG
people who think this is good (or even some have claimed the best RPG ever) I think never really played a good RPG before

Starfy = way to generic and easy, linear, repetitive, reused level designs, ect...

GTA:CW = maybe im just too used to the 3D GTA's on the PSP/PS2, I didnt partially like it and couldnt get into it

Rhythm Heaven = a lot of the games are badly executed and people praise it ignoring all the problems
the GBA ver was a lot better, some games were fun however the problems outweighed the good parts

Sonic Rush = after playing this I think to my self, how the heck can anyone think this is good
have they ever played a classic sonic game (same goes for the people who think that new sonic unleashed games are good)

It might be all those things, but there's something about it that keeps me coming back for more...

It reminds me a bit of Yoshi's Story on the N64 -- great fun to play...

twewy was okayish, what do you say is a good rpg, cause i think twewy is good

I find it amusing how some people say a game is overrated because they played it for 10 minutes and so and find nothing interesting about it. WELL DUH?

You can't really give your opinion of a game on whether it's overrated or not unless you've played through the whole game.

Black Sigil, I've got better RPG's on my mobile. How after it was delayed for so long they could have released it like it is with the freezing, characters getting stuck so they can't attack, not being able to run on the map and so on.

Haven't really had a bad game yet (since all my games are carefully picked

).

I also don't understand what people have against The World Ends With You... I keep reading that it was clumsy and the controls were almost impossible to use / the story lacked / "I stopped playing halfway"... most of these comments seem to be coming from impatient gamers who enjoy story-less, button mashing games. I didn't even understand the music and I still found that it matched the game pretty well.

If you really play with patience, understanding, and have an open mind for new innovative games, in my opinion there shouldn't be much of a reason to dislike this game. I think the 9 rating was pretty well deserved.

Phantom hourglass isn't really "overrated" to me, but it was dissapointing. Games like Minish Cap are way better. The bad thing about PH was by the way you had to frequently go through the Temple of the Ocean king. It sucked balls.. and as the temple wasn't slow and boring - while also stressing because of the time limit - You also had to get even further down the temple at sequal entries.

I find it personally amusing to see people call games overrated if they went to play the game without knowing what they were expecting (like calling Phoenix Wright overrated basically because it's a visual novel).

Yup.

This thread can be summerized, "Bawwww, I played like 20 minutes of it and I hate it, even though I don't even know how the game actually is. Even though I barely know anything about the game, but I'm just going to flame it, because I think it's only right that I do."

@Joe88- I've played almost every "best" RPG out there considered by everyone. Final Fantasy 1-9, Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG (and all other MRPG's), Star Wars KOTOR, Dragon Quest (series), Kingdom Hearts (series), (insert every SNES and almost every PS1 RPG here). I've played a shit ton of them. I consider TWEWY very good. Not the best game ever, but one of the better DS games out there.

The same goes for Sonic games. I love the old 2D Genesis games. Sonic CD is my favorite. I even like SA1 and 2. But I don't like a lot of the newer games. However, I feel that the GBA and DS games (besides Chronicles) are the closest we've been to good classic Sonic games in a long time. I didn't like Sonic Rush as much as the Advance games, but I still consider is pretty good.

Basically, I'm not dissing your opinion on these two games, but I am saying that people who liked them have played the classics and do know what is good and bad.

Ontopic- I certainly don't consider Black Sigil overrated. It got rather bad scores. Like sub-5/10's at times. For something to be overrated, a game would really need to have scores above 8.5/10 or so. It was overhyped to death is what it was. It's an ok RPG for me. Not really bad but not great either. It is somewhat entertaining, but I found myself wanting to play other RPG's instead. It certainly didn't live up to the premature hype. But since nobody is really singing the game's praises, I can't say it's overrated.

Past participle
over-rated

to over-rate (third-person singular simple present over-rates, present participle over-rating, simple past and past participle over-rated)

1. To esteem too highly; to give greater praise than due."

People think an over rated game is a game they hate that everyone else likes. Games that are given greater praise than they deserve =/= games you don't like. Remember that.

Also, kinda off topic, it's funny how people love the old Sonic games, and yet hate the GBA/DS games. The assumption is that Sonic games suck no matter what, without playing. I've seen many "reviews" that say nothing about any of the gameplay, and giving crap scores. Example: look at GI's SRA review. seems positive and you look at the 7.25 score. Without mentioning what they didnt like about it, even. Everyone craps on it because of the collection stuff, but unless you suck at the stages (which were good) it shouldn't take forever. And the story in every Sonic game is bashed all the time. Excuse the bastard for doing something besides save some princess for 20 years in a row, did you expect a deep plot from what is essentially a cartoon about talking animals??

/end rant

Kirby: Canvas Curse - This ain't Kirby, this ain't Kirby at all.
Yeah god forbid they try to change a series for the better. Canvas Curse is one of my favorite Kirby games

Man, you can't change Kirby. You just can't. Kirby's supposed to be a fun little platformer, not some touch-screen gimmick game. It's like if they made EBA 2, but you pressed buttons instead of using the touch screen. It just ain't right.

yeah me too i kinda played every ff series to date, zelda, chrono series, breath of fire almost every major rpg i think and yeah twewy is considered to be okay-good game, the song still get stuck in my head

TWEWY - It was a great game and is still one of my favorite DS games but it was not groundbreaking or revolutionary and is certainly not the best DS game.

GTA: CW - The game itself is only okay but people will say anything with GTA in the title is amazing even if it did suck.

Ace Attorney series - I cannot understand why so many people love these games. I beat the first two and found them incredibly boring for 90% of the time.

Hotel Dusk - Same reasons as Ace Attorney

Professor Layton - I just don't like slow-paced games, I guess.

The same thing over and over is pretty boring. Play one kirby game and you've played them all. Canvas Curse was in no way gimmicky and it was actually a really good tribute to the kirby franchise.

I'm going to add myself to the very tiny TWEWY camp.

Clumsy controls aside, I found the dialog to be horribly, painfully cringe inducing. I couldn't play the game with the volume turned up out of embarrassment.

How did this game end up being teh greatest DS game evar according to just about everyone?

Aight, yo.

It's great BECAUSE of the "clumsy" controls which really aren't clumsy at all. It's revolutionary for actually making a great way to use the controls on the DS.
