You cannot change the size of memory, that is, if you are asking to make a 2gig card have more memory than intended. The only way to get more memory is to buy an new SD card or delete files off your existing SD card to make room available again.

Depends -

Are you asking if there is anyway of increasing the storage capability of a 2Gb card so that it can hold say 3Gb of stuff - then No there isn't.
It's like if you have a 2Gallon jug - you can't stick 3 gallons in it

If you are asking is there any way of making more space on a 2Gb card then it depends on what you have already stored on the card, & what you are going to use it for.

You could 'zip' files to make more space, the only problem is that whatever you use it on may not be able to 'look inside' the zip file. for e.g. if you got a load of mp3 stored on it - you could 'zip' them, but if you place it into a mp3 player then it will only play the mp3 that are NOT in the zip file (not that you'll get much more space trying to zip a mp3 file - 'cos mp3 are already 'compressed')

Trim your roms so. It removes the unneeded blank data, reducing the size and saving space.
I do not get it why games have this blank spaces

Because games are coded in binary, so the size must be a power of 2.

I did read something somewhere about someone trying to abuse the replacement sectors flash based memory tends to have to replace failed sectors to bump up space (a similar thing was done back on CDRs with mode2/XCD http://xcd.sourceforge.net/ ). As anything more than a write once or just for fun that is a silly idea though.

If you are especially pressed for space consider taking up the ancient art of rom ripping in addition to rom trimming, nobody has really done it since we got proper DS capable cards with reasonably priced CF/XD/SD/microSD as opposed to old GBA era stuff but http://ezflash.sosuke.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=457 and I added somewhere in the DS rom hacking docs stickied up top somewhere too if that is down for some reason.

As we read directly from the microSD these days compression can not be done- even then you usually gain about the same amount of space for trimming the rom.
