kobykaan, I think your theory is flawed and you are shouting too much. Say what you want, but you have obviously not compared old Moonshell vs. Sakura vs. Moonshell 2 yet. Try it sometime. You would see that where there were very ugly blocking artefacts with Moonshell 1.71, coming through the reduced colorspace - those are partially gone with Sakura through its dithering filter, but with Moonshell there's neither a dithering filter anymore, nor any block artefacts. Color transitions look perfect now.

Moonshell 2 is a very big step forward, IMHO. Together with the alledged MP3 improvements this is quite a boost in quality.

No ... why would I test this !? ....it would be a pointless exercise wouldn't it!! ... as I have SAKURA!

I just ranted on because I FELT LIKE IT! ......

How the heck do you think I know its BUGGY compared ...and how would I know the SLIDE to select a file is MISSING and some of the icons or graphics for the MEDIA PLAYER part are MISSING!?

If you even bothered to read the whole thread and the other MOONSHELL 2 related posts you would see I HAVE tested it!

I ran it on my NPLAYER (R4 CLONE) and on a REAL R4 that's how I KNOW!

I found it to have issues with a test video file I use ....that I know works on 1.71 and Sakura just fine and had issues during playback on the 2.0 BETA!

I've also used MOONSHELL from quite an early version ...I've seen it improve a lot along the way ....

yes its got improvements over 1.71 .....but with ALL BETA'S they also BRING PROBLEMS! that's why its a BETA!

we test it... report the bugs they fix it that's how BETA programs/tests work!

to add ... before you have a yet another go at me people of the forum! PLEASE GET FACTS STRAIGHT before you start thanks!

You don't have a clue, but you like to rant, from the looks of your post. Menu might be a bit buggy, but do you really think that's a reason not to use Moonshell for DPG playback? Have you even tried to find out why that DPG has problems?

yeah OK you win I DON'T HAVE A CLUE!!! ...I JUST LIKE TO RANT.. ....happy now?!

I've gave my OWN views and opinions that's what the discussion thread is for! ...and if YOU DON'T LIKE then that's FINE you don't have to pay any attention to my posts and neither does anyone else!

now move on!

no kobykaan. you haven lost cos i know why dpg has problems. and no you dont like to rant.
its because of some stupid pixel error. the older dpg converters convert , i think, slightly different dpgs that moonshell2 cant read. obviously, moonshell 17.1 and lower can read this format of dpg because the converter was released within that time. but with the release of moonshell 2, moonlight released another converter that, i bet, only moonlight can use [well he IS the coder xD] and some of us cant because of some stupid error. moonlight explaining error? heres the email. but of course, this is only my theory =]=]=]

kobykaan... how should I put this...

The heck you are killing my eyes and it bothers when I have to scroll down ALL the way down the page in order to read your comments. Seriously stop spamming so many line breaks in your posts, that's horrible. Also could you please stop to abuse CapsLock, and try to be a bit more friendlier to others in this thread.

I always liked Moonshell and I will be sure to check out the new beta version of MS 2.0 . Ive read some of his posts on his website, and his ideas sound interresting and the new features he wants to implement are promising. Especially DPG playback.

PS: Here my post in your language:
kobykaan... I DUNNO HOW TO SAY THIS!!! BUT!!

YOu hurt my eyes with your posts you are USING TO MANY LINE BREAKS!

ALSO! I think you sound very unfriendly, if that is intended or not I DONT KNOW! BUT OH WELL!

I think you are ranting! OP JUST WANTED TO TRY OUT THE NEW MOONSHELL, so who cares! We waited for ages for a new Moonshell, SO WHY NOT TRY IT OUT!?!

OK THATS IT!

*burp*

I happen to have the DLDI Sakura. I tried Moonshell2, since it was a moonshell update and not a Sakura update. Keep in mind, the makers of the M3 don't want Sakura running on anything else other then a real M3. Meaning the Sakura stuff is licensed for a M3 not your R4 or whatever else your using.

Moonlight (the creator of both the Sakura firmware and Moonshell), is just now releasing a separated Moonshell from the Sakura. Unlike Sakura, this is supposed to be run an any flash cart!

It's still a beta, and the file/folder slide feature may in fact be implemented in a future beta or in the final version. Just because it doesn't have it now doesn't mean it won't. (unless the author explicitly tells you he won't put it in)

I'll still use my hacked Sakura for now, but when Moonshell 2 gets to a non beta release, then you bet my ass I'll switch to it.

Apache if you say us thiss will launch games and homebrew too than will be this an Moonshell vs. Menudo year maybe month

??? SHIT SHIT SHIT NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WHY THE FUCK DID I DEFRAGMENT MY SD CARD!? ALL FOR IMPROVING PERFORMANCE......NOOOO.....
oh well thx for the tip.
*REMOVED*

Why in hell did you defragmented a flash media? Fragmentation do not cause any problems because there is no mobile piece to look for the next sector unlike an hard drive.

You gain nothing but a media that you used up write cycles on it (Flash media have limited write cycle, and will eventually die).
