Why is it moonshell 1 was around 5 megs on my flashcard, yet moonshell 2 is over 50? Surely a great deal of this stuff must be extraneous. Is anything other than the actual moonshl2.ds file necessary for the program to run properly?

Yes, most is extraneous. It has tons of new programs. You only need moonshl2.nds and moonshl2 folder.

Guys, expect a big update soon. I need to make a lot since I've been slacking off. Expect that in 3 or 4 days, there will be an update. (We still have exams right now)

Here's what to expect:

A downloadable PDF version of this.
A Mega Pack of Moonshell with as many things as possible.
More skins indexed.

Sorry, none have been made so far. I only index them.

Expect the update in 2 days.
Off Topic: We just had our history exam and it was so hard. Well, I think I'll get 90 at least or A-. That's probably not so low for you guys but I have this stupid reputation.

Marist, and our Vali and Sali just left and they're with the blue eagles now...

Yay! I have a chance now! If only my best friend wasn't the smartest guy in our school.

How about you? Why do I get the feeling since you have Trimester it's La Salle? The prices are obscene there right?

On topic: Does anyone think I should add something here? I may just make a skin making guide.

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I load it, the logo freezes, and says Moonshell 2.05 stable booting... Extension memory was not found. I have successfully used Moonshell 2.05 before. All I did was add a few homebrew games and songs, and it stopped working. I removed everything I had added, but still no luck.

Also, is there a way to get rid of these following files, while keeping Moonshell intact?

TTIO.nds
Check disk for NDS ver0.4.nds
Image viewer ver1.11.nds
Language Select tool for MS2.nds
Morning Timer Ver1.2.nds
IPK.nds
nes.nester.nds

I have a DSTT, and it's very annoying to have these files all over my pretty menu. With the earlier MS2 versions, I was able to just delete them, but now MS2 won't run if any of them are missing. I know what most of the programs are, and don't want them.

Thanks.

how do you hide individual files such as moonshell.nds etc. some homebrew creates files that moonshell can see and are required on the root to run the homebrew. so is it possible to hide individual files?

I have a DSTT, and it's very annoying to have these files all over my pretty menuYou can get rid of the ones in RED safely without affecting Moonshell - I also have a DSTT(i) & I ALWAYS delete those

'TTIO.nds' (found in resetmse folder) is used when you select 'reset to firmware' option in Moonshell [Press 'start'] - I usually keep it even if i don't use the function. In THEORY you could put anything as TTIO.nds so you could change 'reset to firmware' to something like 'reset to ....' (A bookreader perhaps ??)

I usually keep 'Morning timer' as I find it useful to remind me of things - it's like a alarm clock utility

'IPK.nds' & 'nes.nester.nds' I believe are used when you want to do certain rom emulation (perhaps someone can confirm this) - It's possible that it's these that causing Moonshell from running properly (have you accidentally deleted any foreign fonts etc ?? - I did that once & moonshell kept 'freezing'

As for your 'Moonshell 2.05 stable booting... Extension memory was not found' - have you DLDI'd it with a suitable DSTT DLDI file (I believe it's actually called TTIO.dldi or something like that). Another problem when I had an earlier version I found that deleting the 'logbuf.txt' file sometimes helped - why, don't know but you could try it

As for 'hiding' certain files, while in Windows have you right clicked the offending files > select 'properties' & chosen 'Hidden' ??
If that doesn't work & if you want to hide the whole 'moonshel2' there's a file in Moonshel2 called 'hidepath' & all you have to do is remove the semi-colon in front of 'moonshel2' entry

CODE;Hide Moonshell2 system folder
;/moonshel2

Change it to

;Hide Moonshell2 system folder
/moonshel2

Thanks, CannonFoddr! I've managed to get it all up and working. It turned out that I need to format my card, and place the files back on. Unfortunately, I'm still unable to remove those files. When I removed the semicolon, it messed up MS2, and said that save could not be found. I put it back, and it fixed the problem. The ones that you highlighted disappeared, though.

If you have any other ideas as to how I might be able to remove them, I'm more than willing to try.

Thanks again.

i knw you can hide folders that way. i dont want to change it into hidden in windows.
i use win2ds, and it creates a config file in the root of my sd.
i want moonshell to hide this file. i dont want to change the properties to hidden.

otherwise when my ds starts up (moonshell=my ds_menu.dat), moonshell boots up. then i see te config file. i can hide folders via hidefile.ini. but i want to hide individual files not folders.
or is it not possible at the moment?

thanks for the reply though.

Well, I already pretty much guessed your using the regular menu, correct?

Delete Morning Timer, IPK.nds and nes.nester.nds. Then, in the external link folder, make a dummy file. (like, I dunno, flv.nds)

Keep TTIO.nds for soft reset.

Or you can just switch to YSMenu.

i have moonshell 2 as my firmware. it doesnt use default.nds to run. i used r4crypt to make it to _ds_menu.dat. ok?
it can boot MOST homebrew, but some doesnt boot. i boot ysmenu via moonshell and boot back to moonshell from ysmenu and it can load the homebrew perfectly.
is there a way for moonshell2 to dldi patch homebrew wothout using ysmenu?
sorry if its confusing.

has it something to do with dldibody.bin?

oh, DSNotes, DiagnoSe are the homebrew that cant be booted from moonshell alone.

umm... i dont know anything about moonshl exept on how to put themes or skins for moonshl

do i erase the other moonshl in my micro sd (edge)??

so sorry if this is a stupid question
