If you haven't heard of this game, you really, really need to be paying attention. Seems the DS is going to be graced with quite a few excellent titles as it prepares to leave center stage on the handheld front. Among those games is Monster Tale. To give you a frame of reference, this game is being developed by the same folks who brought us Henry Hatsworth. Unlike Hatsworth, however, Monster Tale is more along the lines of a Metroidvania than a linear side-scroller. But the developers have, once again, managed to incorporate some clever dual-screen action.

Rather than try to articulate in words just how this game works, I'll merely present you with GiantBomb's quick look. Do yourself a favor and check it out:

That lil' gal up thar is named Ellie, whom you'll be controlling throughout the game. There's a little bit of monster collecting/evolving as well, and that's where the working of the two screens in tandem with controlling Ellie with the buttons comes into play. Again, watch Giant Bomb's quick look. I believe we can expect the game to release on the first of next month, so just a couple more weeks.

Enjoy!

Hmm...reminds me more of Shantae. I really love the art style. I'm a sucker for polygons, but when someone does pixel art right, it's pretty sweet.

You might want to fix the 1st post, it comes out in the US on the 22nd March, not today.

Yeah, it got pushed back. I'll change that. That's the only news I know of. 'Tis a shame, too, as it seems to be on the same day of the U.S. 3DS launch. Doubt this game will see positive sales.
