Got this new variety of Monster energy and um...
The flavor is some kind of "tropical fruit punch" thing that I can't quite parse, but I don't think it's seen actual fruit at any step of its manufacture. And I think it bears the same relation to the "fruit" it's supposed to replicate as the artificial banana flavoring has to the current bananas.
But.
What it does taste like, exactly, down to the aftertaste and the way too much artificial sweetener, is a type of antibiotic syrup called "Zinnat" that my kids had to take for ear infections. Like, that's the taste. That's 100% the same taste.
Ew.
