Gaming Monster Hunter US Save to Pal ?

Is there a way to play with the Character of the US version on Pal ?

a friend got the Pal version of Monster Hunter and wants to play with me so I am thinking about buying the Pal version as well (got a ... copy ... of the US version before Pal release so i played this one) but I do not want to restart the game from zero after 30+ hours of gameplay but I would like to play with him so well ... is there a way ?

some threads below there was a thread asking about changing us to pal for another game and someone wrote it works with savemanager from waninkoko and changing some id or whatever oO ... would that work on MH as well ?

Extract the save from the nand with a save game manager. Then rename the directory from

00010000524d4845

to

00010000524d4850

Then import it back to your Wiis nand.

And yes, I have done this successfully.
