You keep forgetting that the touch screen can work as a second analog stick.: Excuse me while I use my third hand to play the fucking game.

3DS has like wii level
graphics, are you saying the psp is close to the wii? Yeah. There's some Wii games that look truly awesome but honestly, there's plenty of PSP games that are less than a stone's throw away from it.

Graphics.... I want something different then just graphics. It will be fun having projectiles and monsters
coming out to my face. Then you're just easily amused. I mean, I'd rather be impressed by the monsters looking highly detailed and being able to get an absolutely massive scope with the higher power on the NGP then "They pop out a bit".

I imagine, the only way the 3DS can execute similar controls is if they used the touch screen for both camera movement and face buttons. That would be just about as convenient, if not, then the same because dual analogs and full touch screen would mean taking your hand off of either to control the other.

I don't see that working out well at all. It'd just be really poor control. Between adjusting the camera and poking buttons, it'd be an absolute mess.

I'm confused by this statement.
Couldn't you just move your right thumb from the face buttons and touch the screen?
Like how you'd have to move your right thumb from the face buttons to use a second analog stick.

You need a stylus for the 3DS touch screen I'm pretty sure. Plus the distance between the face buttons and the second analog stick is often times much less. Plus it's much easier adjustment and what not.

I find it hard to believe that on the PSP or NGP you can easily use the nub and the face buttons easily.

Surprisingly, the 3DS handles touch with the fingers VERY well. It almost kind of seems capacitive. Although the stylus is more precise, fingers make a nice alternative.

Mainly because you have a single nub on the PSP. Most any gamer will admit it's a pain when you have to use the D-Pad and the analog stick at the same time (such as adjusting the camera in Monster Hunter).

It still would definitely beat using a touchscreen for camera controls along with an analog nub/circle pad/whatever. It's like why FPS games on the DS don't use the D-Pad/ABXY for normal usage (depending on if you're a lefty or righty).

My hand can reach over to the bottons and touch screen just fine. Just like you can reach from the analog stick to the buttons.

If the 3DS game is made right things can pop out a lot. And how is being a graphics *censor* (do not like using that word) isn't easily amused?

If that's true then it should be fine.
Accuracy/precision isn't even necessary since it would just need to sense the general direction.

Alternatively, they use the touchscreen for quick /menu item usage which frees up the quick-menu button.
Could then use that button to toggle camera mode on the face buttons.

Guild GTFO. Do you seriously have to go into every 3ds thread and be so damn negative. Your comments sound very naive and shows you havent had a good amount of time with the system. You actually dont think the 3ds touch screen cant handle your thumb for quick camera movement? and how is HD visuals and less of a novelty than 3d?

You don't...you don't have a 3DS do you? The touchscreen is way more finger friendly. Which I believe that it'd be much easier to control the camera with the touchscreen. You definitely don't use the face buttons and the right analog at the same time. You don't on the dualshock, you don't with the classic controller.

But I'd rather have detailed wyverns than 3D...but that doesn't mean MH can't be on both handhelds. I'd rather have a PS3/360 MH at the end of the day.

after the tsunami and earthquake in japan, all of the expected projects were cancelled.
now they're only making Imagine games, pets games and puzzle for the 3DS until next year.

Imagine yourself putting makeup and taking care of babies in 3D!

Comments like these make me face-palm.

It's HIS OPINION. Just because he doesn't like a system doesn't mean that he's wrong. There are no limits to him posting in a section he doesn't like and, as you say, "be so damn negative".

I understand your dedication to a company. He likes Sony, maybe you like Nintendo. No need to fight. Just keep the peace. :/

The only thing that really gets me about this is that he states it's being translated, which doesn't really make sense for a series that doesn't exactly have punctual translations.

I'd probably also prefer it on the NPG/PS3 than the 3DS simply because it isn't something a lot of 3DS gamers will actually care about.

And I would also rather have shinier dinosaur skin over a 3D effect nobody will use because monster hunter alone gives people enough headaches.

This, and the fact that since the majority of the site is made up of Nintendo Fanboys, it's nice to see a change for once. Guild's a rebel leader, if you will. He's the Godot (or Edgeworth) to our Phoenix Wright.

Well, there is the thing about those quests they give and the occasional dialog. And the vast majority of items have to be translated as well. Hmm.

Honestly, the main reason I want a 3DS version is because I won't be getting an NGP for a while. I don't give a crap about the 3D, I just want to play Monster Hunter.

Does that mean we can possibly get MH3rd Portable translated?
And yeah, reaching out to the touch screen with my right thumb would be pretty difficult (on 3DS), in fact arrow buttons over left analog (on PSP) is a much easier solution for camera control. But 2nd analog stick trumps both, that way the arrow keys could be used for quick-items, maybe the touch screen on the 3DS could be used for that too?

In all likelyhood if this is real it's just a port of Portable 3rd.
It would explain why it's already being translated since it doesn't exist in Japan yet.
And if that's the case then a lot of the negativity here over lost potential due to it not being on the NGP/PS3 is wasted.

My hand can reach over to the bottoms and touch screen just fine. Just like you can reach from the analog stick to the buttons. But having to switch your hand placement from your set of attack buttons and what not to the screen to adjust it is an absolute pain.

Show me a psp game close to Twilight Princess.

- The Third Birthday
- God of War: Chains of Olympus
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
- Final Fantasy Type-0 (upcoming)
- A few other games I probably missed.

The PSP is a weaker system but it's also a goddamn handheld and the fact that it hits pretty close is still impressive. And don't give me the whole "WELL THE 3DS IS WII-LEVEL GRAPHICS" bullshit, it's also not roughly six years old.

If the 3DS game is made right things can pop out a lot. And how is being a graphics *censor* (do not like using that word) isn't easily amused? Because high graphical quality is something that is meant to evolve with gaming. In the end, no matter what way you twist it, it does help gameplay. There's plenty of great games nowadays that you probably wouldn't want to play with the graphical quality of a N64. And they're certainly not bad, it's just that the graphics really do help convey the environment, the characters, the plot itself. 3D just has it pop out a bit and really doesn't compare to having characters look more lifelike. Pop out all ya want, a character model that still looks like Wii-level graphics still looks like a character model with Wii-quality graphics.

So I guess being thorough is being negative now? I'm being a realist here and I'm a pretty big fan of Monster Hunter. When you tell someone to "GTFO" it's basically just you getting all pissy about someone presenting something you just don't want to accept. Even people who bought the 3DS and love the 3DS still see it's a gimmick.
