I’m also seeing the lake hylia crash, whether going from Lon Lon farm or trying to use the warp to get there. Will upload logs shortly. Also in hyrule in the cat maze, if a cat strikes small link it crashes.

Attached are crash logs from the cat attack, as well as moving to lake hyrule. The lake hyrule crash occurs both when moving from lon lon farm, and using ocarana of wind to warp there. Cat attack crash occured first, then lake hyrule after. save file included in zip, but this save is already past the cats below.

v1.4.3 — Lake Hylia fixed for real, plus the cat

Sorry for the noise — 1.4.2 blamed a stale assets folder, and it wasn't that. Your logs made it clear: both of you had byte-identical garbage, which means the bug is in the code, not on your SD.

  • Lake Hylia crash — the room's enemy list was an empty placeholder in the port instead of the real list from the ROM, so on entering the game walked through memory spawning garbage until it crashed. It hits everyone who hasn't cleared the Temple of Droplets yet, walking in from Lon Lon Ranch or warping with the Ocarina. Reproduced with @JJTapia19's save, fixed and verified.
  • Cat swipe on Minish Link (Hyrule Town) — the cat's hitbox table was read with the wrong pointer width. Thanks @digdat0 for the logs and the screenshots.

The in-app updater (Settings → System) installs it as usual if your game is at /switch/tmc/tmc_aleks_ultimate_nx.nro. If you kept the downloaded file name (…_v1.4.x.nro), copy this one over it once — from 1.4.2 on the updater handles that too.

v1.4.4 — drag-and-drop equipment on the second screen

The ITEMS tab now shows all six slots as rings: A and B, plus the X / Y / ZL / ZR shortcuts underneath.
  • Drag an item from the grid onto any ring to assign it.
  • Drag a ring onto another ring to swap the two.
  • Drag a shortcut ring away (or hold it) to empty that shortcut.
  • Tap = A, hold = B and "arm a ring, then tap an item" still work; the D-pad reaches the new rings too.

Includes the 1.4.3 crash fixes (Lake Hylia, cat swipe). The in-app updater picks it up as usual.

v1.4.5 — the ending works

Two bugs at the very end of the game, found by comparing against EstebanPdN's 3DS port v2.0 (he fixed them there after our fork — thanks Esteban):
  • Credits never rolled after beating Vaati — the outro's "Roll Credits" call was missing from the port's script table, so the game just handed control back after the final cutscene. The staff roll now plays like the original.
  • Soft reset closed the app — the end of the credits, "game over → don't continue" and Start+Select+A+B all quit to the HOME menu. They now restart to the title screen like the GBA; saves untouched.
The in-app updater picks it up as usual.

Any thoughts on why the sun isn't shining on the ice at the start of the Temple of Droplets? Is this a graphics issue possibly? Heres two screenshots of what I see

As I understand it, sun should show on that part of the ice and melt the block, like this (screenshot from zelda dungeon):

v1.4.6 — Temple of Droplets sunbeam is back

@digdat0 good catch — it was a port bug, not your save. The temple's light manager was reading its data at the wrong offset on 64-bit, so the sunbeam never rendered in any room and the light-gated ice puzzles ran on a zero flag. Fixed, and verified with your save. If you're already inside, the light on the ice shows up once you've opened the hole above it, like the original.

Same defect also fixed for the Dark Hyrule Castle statue room (the reward flag was never set), plus a crash when a Beetle dies in the same frame as its mandibles.

The in-app updater picks it up as usual.

This feature kind of flew under the radar, but the additional button mapping is AWESOME! Its really nice to be able to map additional weapons to buttons. Thank you

Alek's Ultimate NX Edition v1.4.7 — Temple of Droplets boss door crash fixed

Available both ways:

Fixed: crash when opening the Temple of Droplets boss door (thanks @flaviometal)
It was not the door itself but the room behind it. That room spawns the frozen Big Octorok in seven parts, and the leg parts read the mouth part's health one frame before the mouth exists. The GBA shrugs that stray read off (it lands in the BIOS mirror); the Switch faulted the moment the room loaded, so nobody on this port had ever seen the Big Octorok. The same class of read was guarded inside the boss fight itself (camera target, death explosion, tail and leg updates), mirroring the fixes the 3DS port carries.

Verified end to end after the fix: boss door → both sunbeam cutscenes → the ice thaws → the Octorok slides down into the boss room → the fight.

Notes
  • Hotfix on top of 1.4.6 (sunbeam, statue reward, beetle mandibles). Saves and settings carry over.
  • If you were already standing at the boss door: just update and open it.

Since that's now a factual claim in my thread, quick clarification for anyone reading. The "steals data" line is his, not mine: six hours ago on Reddit he wrote "I'm excited for when it steals peoples' data and you disappear and stop updating it" (screenshot below). I replied "yeah i will stole ur data from ur switch account 🥀", throwing his own line back at him, after a string of personal attacks over and other user there ("no one irl will talk to you", "just sad life you got dude", and telling me God is upset with me, among about twenty comments like that, aimed at me and at other people in the thread). Poor choice of words on my part, which is why I deleted it right after posting it. He then followed me here to keep going, and is now quoting that sarcasm as if it were an admission, so let's get the facts straight: the port doesn't collect or send any user data. The only network activity is the in-app updater, which downloads the release from GitHub, and RetroAchievements, which is optional and uses your own account. Crash logs are written to your SD card and only reach me if you attach them to a bug report yourself. The source is public on GitHub so anyone can check.

sounds like your just a whiner , and you couldn't get to the idea yourself , also if he's stealing data , exactly how , i have zero issues with this app , and back up your reference if you make one , don't come in to a place like this an spew rhetoric without evidence .

Thanks! But I've found another bug, on the same dungeon: When you need to go down a waterfall mounted on a water lilly, and you reach the bottom of the waterfall, the water lilly disappears, and Link cannot proceed.

Fyi, reddit doesnt delete the comments you delete publicly in the user you replied to’s notifications. Even when you block me for calling you out on reddit and you having a meltdown and bringing up religion and God for some reason. You said you were stealing users’ data before my reply and then you deleted it because its against reddit TOS and likely people here will be upset too.

You also linked me to this thread and the github. Why lie? My account here is older than your shitty ai slop posts and it’s crazy that someone pretending to be a dev, who uses ai slop llms, doesn’t know how to cover their tracks properly while lying to the users.

again , if you are using homebrew and you don't know how to counteract things like that you deserve it , and its highly unlikely that it can do that , you would have to intentionally code it into the programming , a look into the code doesn't reveal any of that , you know what sarcasm is don't you ?

i read the posts on reddit don't think i am naive , you still sound like a whiney baby , triggered .
