Hacking Monster Hunter 3

I put a scrubbed version (the full game, not the demo) on my USB HDD via WBFS and it runs fine on USB Loader GX. I'm having trouble with the menus though- I don't know how to start playing the game. The first of three options freezes at a black screen. I'm having trouble getting the other two to do anything productive for me. In the second (middle) option, there seems to be some choices, one of which looks like "load game", and I would imagine the other is "new game", but a screen pops up with some text and I can only push A to get out of it.

In short, I'd like to know how to get playing.

this tut works man thanks...but for usb loaders better use uLoader 2.7 by hermes using cios222 or 223. the game also works fine. tried loader gx, no success.

Hello guys, this is a user from HK. (if you have problem reading japanese let me know i try to help)

I have successfully loaded MH3 using loader gx successfully (and I tried uloader2.8D and Ok too)

For Gx, few things have to change in the configue menu:
Video Mode: System Default
VIDTV Patch: On
Game Language: Japanese
IOS: 223
Error 002 fix: Anti (

tried again my luck on loader gx. i switched to using the r707 release then used the same settings as i did in uLoader then it worked fine with cios223.

Mine is working with USB Loader GX with this settings:

Video Mode: Force NTSC
VIDTV Patch: Off
Game Language: Japanese
IOS: 223
Error 002 fix: On
Block IOS Reload: Off

is it possible to change the video mode from ntsc to pal??? with a video mode patcher or something like that?

I dont think so but just give it a try, force PAL and let us know.

i heard about a video mode changer where i have to patch the main.dol.
does this work for mh3? i can only play it in b/w beacuse of my old tv
