I followed every step to the letter to install modmii on my version 4.3 wii. Everything appears to be installed correctly but once I go to load up modmii the screen appears and I can't do anything...the 4 lights on the wiimote light up when I try to do anything....

Is there a step I missed? Do I remove the sd card?

Sorry if this has been asked before [IMG]

Modmii is an application that runs on your PC.

What part is freezing up on your wii.

@ Riley: Perhaps he's talking about running the HackMii part

@ kasen23: Did you read the 'Important notes' in the guide.....in particular

I've not modded a 4.3 Wii but on my 4.2E Wii I had problems when I first modded, & it was because I was trying to use a SDHC card & i had left the Gamecube stuff still plugged in

Yeah the card is just an SD card.

But of course I missed this part *Turn off WiiConnect24 and take out all gamecube memory cards/controllers when modding the Wii*

The system would lock up at the BootMii screen.

I used the SMASH STACK EXPLOIT.

So basiclly I totaly messed this up huh lol.

So how would I go about removing all of this and starting over?

    Thanks guys [IMG]

Not used any exploit before so not sure but (once again) the guide does say
which I would guess it basically means start from scratch as though you had not softmodded before

I turned off WiiConnect24. And ran through the install again. Everything appears to install fine no errors.

While inside the Homebrew Channel screen I click on the home button to bring up the BootMii menu.

I than click Launch Bootmii. Than I can see 4 options. But I am unable to click or make any selection at this point?

You have to select with the GC controller or by pressing the power and reset buttons.

    Power = Move right
    Reset = Select

Make a bootmii backup and save it somewhere on your PC.

Wow I think I better take more time reading the instructions...the guide even told me to use the power buttons on the wii. [IMG]

I won't be posting again Until I read that guide word for word lol

kasen23, yup, READ the guides REAL GOOD, and you'll have no problems hacking with ModMii.
I still use it to update anything new that comes along, so, keep that in mind, too.
Also, read over the USB loading section, if you have a new Wii, your gonna need a external USB drive to play games off of. New Wii's can't read burned discs, ever.....

So far so good [IMG] Now i'm onto the USB loading section.

Noob question though, I installed all the new apps it recommended and new fancy screen but when I power up the wii nothing is different, only see the new homebrew screen where I can install everything from.

I originaly used wbfs to copy over my wii games to my external hardrive.

But after reading the guide it has informed me to copy everything in the folder COPY_TO_SD to the root of the drive. But as the drive has been formated wbfs this is not possible.

So i'm thinking I need to format the drive again using fat 32 than use WiiBackupManager.exe to copy the files to the drive again? This should work am I correct?

    Thanks

Yes, but keep in mind whatever is on that drive will be lost, unless you transfer all back to your PC.
Once formatted to FAT32, use Wii Backup Manager to transfer the games onto the drive again.

can i ask for some help please too?
i partitioned my external drive to fat32 and ntfs so i could run usb loader of fat32, ans put the games onto the ntfs parttion but after using backup manager to put the games on the ntfs partion i cannot get
usb loader to find the games!!!!
i have tried to use backup manager to put them on the drive as wbfs and iso files but both are not found by my wii usb loader!!!
    any ideas please
    thanks

Blow away the partitions, and just install the 1 large FAT32 Partition.

    Much simpler .

You can backup any game to the FAT32 partition, no matter how big the game is.

Use Easeus Partition Manager if you have to to format the whole disk fat32, and its bigger than about 60 GB, which Windoze XP/7 etc. doesnt like.

CFG usbloader is the best from them all,and if you config the config.txt the right way,it looks even more badass

That is an odd problem, when I modded my 4.3U Wii console, I did NOT turn off WiiConnect24, and it installed without any problems, or any intentions of problems.
