The game must be run prior to attempting to copy the save files over.

Why is this?
What makes the difference?

It's to make sure you HAVE the game, otherwise it assumes you're trying to cheat your way through instead of playing like you should. So it's just a Big N gimmick to get people to play XD
Anyway, when you run said game, it allocates a save spot, priiloader seems to get past that with a setting

After using this tutorial my original discs wont backup to the hard drive anymore. They play just fine, they just dont backup.

Does anyone know whats going on? I have no idea what to try to fix it.

The guy I bought the chip off says its not

Unless you got Wode, your modchip has nothing to do with backing games up to harddrives, it is related to your IOS files being incorrect. Wasabi does not allow or enable disc ripping, it strictly allows backup discs.

A. In short, some channels won't work if you don't have a patched System Menu IOS.
2. Yes, if it wasn't safe, it wouldn't be in the guide.
C. Not required, game backups will work without it.

Syscheck seems to be crashing on me. Its at "testing IOS vulnerabilities.." It looks like its almost done and then the wii slot light just keeps flashing and it doesnt go any further.
I read that it always crashes if BootMii is installed as IOS. Any other app that can be used that would work for me?

The files all look fine. I don't think the chip would be causing it personally, but I'm not 100% sure. Try posting in one of the threads for a specific backup loader (configurable usb loader gets a lot of views) and see what they think.

Really? Are you sure about this? I am unable to test as I haven't bought any new Wii games lately and all the games I already own I've already played.

hey guys, Over the last year I've modded about 3 or so 3.1 wii's, updating from 3.1 to 4.1 then softmodding for usb loader usage.

All have worked perfectly.

NOW I just did one the other day for my girlfriend and it WILL not work like the others, installing anything below USB Loader GX 2.0 black screens when loading the said app.

Loading 2.0 works like a charm, but about 60% of the games do not run!

initially I used this guide - it had always worked for me before

I was thinking there might be some needed ios's didnt install or something but am unsure.

I did a NAND restore and did it all again just to be sure i didnt miss anything and again got the same results :S

I then tired THIS modding guide here. and... I still have the SAME problems!

P.S. THE WII CAN NOT GO ONLINE FOR A FEW WEEKS / AS ITS A NEW HOUSE AND HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NET TO BE CONNECTED, AND AM ASKING THIS FROM MY WORK PC - THUS ALL WORKS NEEDS TO BE DONE OFFLINE (DOWNLOAD FILES ETC TO TAKE HOME TO DO THE WORK)!

A better place to post would be in the USB Loader GX thread in the Backup Loader section. I think the majority of people reading your post probably use cfg.

Just walk to the character on the right and press A. It's the left character of the 2 characters.

Is your SD card in the Wii.
Because it's attempting to read the boot.elf in the root of the SD-card.

Yes, SD card is in. I got the same result after I reformatted another SD and put the same set of files on it.
