I had previously used the sticky to mod my wii, trying to add all the latest from the update but get the following error when trying to patch ios36

ERROR: ES_AddTitleStart (-1035)
error setting verion to 0
ERROR (-1035): Downgrading

this is whilst it's trying to downgrade ios15 to v257

QUOTE(burritoboy9984 @ Aug 15 2010, 09:51 PM) PM sent. Sorry again.
Cheers..but still getting the error, with the new file, and the 482 EU/PAL system update, either by picking one or the other, or both together as in the guide..

Rotten, are you having issue with the update part? I sent you the ios70 to install, and the updated mod pack, that didn't work?

Yep, got the new IOS70, start WAD manager, pick (the new) IOS70-64-v6687.wad
& System Menu-NUS-v482.wad, and get the ret -2011 error.
Even if i pick just 1 file, say the IOS I get the error, so can't get past the "update to 4.2" step...lol

2011 means it failed the sig check, which doesn't make sense to me as the system menu file IS sig checked... Let me do some testing on a wii I have and I will get back to you.

What kind of details are you looking for?
I just tried to softmod my friend's 3.3U virgin wii and used this newer package to do it (files were updated yesterday?)
Updated to 4.2U just fine.
Proceeded to the first step of modify 4.2 inder the "install and patch IOS36 step, express mode" and i got this error:

Preparing downgrade of IOS15 - using v523 to downgrade v257
...
...
...
Step 1: set the version to 0
installing ticket
downgrading tmd
setting the revieion so 0...
ERROR: ES_addtitlestart (-1035)
Error setting version to 0
ERROR (-1035): Downgrading

Any thoughts? Ive previously used older versions of this tutorial to mod 10+ wiis with no problems. but this latest package seems to have me stumped as to why i cant downgrade IOS15

just a question - i can update to the latest hbc, update through the official 4.3 installer, and do the 4.3 part of the guide with no problem right, and then install wanin's cios 17 (im waiting for 21, since 20 seems to be buggy, correct)? my friend has cios'es and all that.

i dont want any post saying no dont update, i just want an answer.

also, 4.3 you can install wads via a wa manager with no problems right?

the answers to this is yes, dont install cios because this back has them, and yes.

also, just want to say the guide worked well on my wii upgrade to 4.3

Yup, I placed the wrong 70 in the update file packs, I will compile new ones and send them out tonight. In the mean time, I will send you a PM with a good ios70 to use until the packs get updated. Just copy the file to the sd card in the wad directory and delete the other one.

Ok, good new bad news... In regards to the 2011 error, that is caused by Yet Another Wad Manager not working with the new hbc 1.0.8 (which is good because hopefully people will be deterred when that doesn't let them install the ios I am talking about below
smile.gif
).

In regards to the above error from NonStopInTheMix, that is due to my stupidity and copying the wrong wad file over for ios15... There will be an updated guide tonight... To those of you who tried today, or are reading this due to my mistake, hit up either the mediafire folder or the 4shared folder and grab the 42mod-fix file (this is only for those who are getting the -1035 when running the express install).

Run 1. Wad Manager 1.7 MOD
Press A past the main screen select IOS61 and press A.
Go down to IOS41-64-v2835.wad and press A twice to install it.
Press the Home button twice to return to the Homebrew Channel.

Run 2. Trucha Bug Restorer 1.13
Press right until you get to IOS41 and press A. BE PATIENT
When it asks you, press 1
Choose Downgrade IOS15 and press A through all the prompts until you get back to the Homebrew Channel.
If you got a code dump here, power off the wii, and try this step again!

Run 3. Trucha Bug Restorer 1.12

Press left until you get to IOS15 and press A. BE PATIENT
When it asks you, press 1
Choose IOS36 Menu
Go down to Patch hask check (trucha), Patch ES_Identity, nand permissions, and Patch version check and press right on each to make them say yes.
Go back up to Install patched IOS36 and press A.
Press A through all the prompts until you get back to the Homebrew Channel.
If you got a code dump here, power off the wii, and try this step again!

Run 4. Multi-Mod Manager [MMM]
Go down to select Remove stubbed IOSs and press A.
Press A to choose remove stub IOS 222, 223, 249, 250, 254.
Press any button to return to the main menu.

When back on the main menu, press right to go to WAD manager.
Press 1 to select all the WAD's then A to install them.
Once done installing, press Home twice to return to the main menu of Multi-Mod Manager.

Once again, sorry for any inconveniences.

Hello

A great guide. I softmod my wii yesterday with the file for 14/8-2010.
I have a wii with 4.2 E version.

The files on my SD card is
2010-02-27 21:30 cIOS202[60]-v5.wad
2010-02-27 21:31 cIOS222[38]-v5.wad

2010-02-27 21:31 cIOS224[57]-v5.wad
2010-08-06 16:50 cIOS249[56]-v20.wad

2009-08-23 06:21 IOS15-64-v257.wad
2009-10-08 04:22 IOS15-64-v523.wad
2009-10-13 02:50 IOS36-64-v3351.wad
2010-08-13 11:38 mmmconfig.txt
2010-08-15 21:43 installer.log
2010-08-16 01:25 config

So far so good. I got no problems to softmod but when I tried to load a game with USB Loader GX my screen go black. USB Loader GX version 938.wad. I have installed it as a channel (not a forwarder). I used a Verbatim 47562 250GB Portable (Bus Powered) 2.5" USB2.0 External Hard Drive formated with NTSF file format.

I have used WiiBackupmanager to convert my ISO file to wbfs format. Have placed them into a wbfs catalog on the root of usb drive.
When a started USB loader GX I see my games. But when I load the games the screen go black. Its loads with cIOS 249 (find this in gamesettings)

I saw that it was a update today. Is there something that could fix my problem?

Thanks in advance

Np man, I figured it was a small mistake. I decided to simply downgrade ios15 via ios41 like the 4.3 tutorial instructed and it worked perfectly, had to install priiloader using 249 but that was no biggie.

This tutorial has helped me mod countless wiis so keep doing what you're doing!

Hi all,

I have a 4.3U Wii.

I followed the instructions using the Smash Stack Method.

My question is at the end,

I was able to do this:

QUOTE said:
Run 3. Multi-Mod Manager [MMM]
Go down to select Remove stubbed IOSs and press A.
Press A to choose remove stub IOS 222, 223, 249, 250, 254.
Press any button to return to the main menu.

But when I do the following:

QUOTEWhen back on the main menu, press right to go to WAD manager.
Press 1 to select all the WAD's then A to install them.
Once done installing, press Home twice to return to the main menu of Multi-Mod Manager.

I only saw one file: IOS41-64-v2835.wad

Then I press 1 to install them. Does it automatically install the wad in the root drive, wad and /wad/mod?

-----

The reason I asked is because we were able to install Priiloader but using IOS36. Priiloader doesn't seem to load the new HomeBrew Channel when I select Priiloader though.

Also, Wiiflow (both IOS 249 or IOS 222 versions) doesn't seem to load. just got a blank screen.

----

I was going to try the 42mod-fix.zip. then notice it said 42 not 43.

Sorry if I left out any useful information that I should have. Any help is greatly appreciated.

---

Edit: Well, I'm not sure what I did (I re-did all steps and a few more), but I installed all the wads in the /wad/mod folder. Also I installed: http://filetrip.net/f9426-cIOS-Installer-38r17.html

and now the WiiFlow worked.

mmmconfig.txt has it load /wad/mod as the default folder... make sure you copy all the files over and the guide WILL work.

Priiloader hasn't been updated for the new hbc channel id YET. Once it is, all will be fine as far as that goes...

In regards to wiiflow, it hasn't been updated to work with cios rev20, so you would need to use a compatible loader...

Ok, So all is good on my modded 4.3u aside from MMM not letting me install WAD's

I go to MMM, select the WAD to install and it spits out error -2011 and results in 0 WAD's installed.

Anyone have any thoughts?
