could be an incompatible drive

have you checked out this page

going to try an 8 gig sandisk cruzer and hope for better results

**update**
tried the new flash drive and still no luck. any other ideas from the pro's?

formated flash drive with WBFS, added ISO via WBFS, and plugged it in both slots to attempt recognition.

didn't work. i tried both FAT32 and WBFS

i'm guessing there aren't very many other things to try.

maybe re-do all the steps in this guide gain?

@x-out and that other guy having the same problem,

what cIOS are u using when trying to play a game off of a fat32 drive?

your wii's aren't special, if u start from the beginning of the guide and double check that everything is successful, it should work the same way as the other 3 wii's u modded already

each loader has it's own options.
generally if the drive is WBFS, the loader load IOS 249 on default
and if the drive is FAT/NTFS, the loader load IOS 222

although USB loader GX and CFG USB loader can load FAT/NTFS from IOS249

regardless you should be able to use any IOS on any game thru the loader settings.

@x-out,

What USB loader are you using?, and what versions of IOS 222, and 249 have you got?

Use DOP-Mii to tell you the IOS Versions if you dont already know.

dop-mii says i'm using ios70

222=v4 currently installed
249=v19 currently installed

i've tried usb loader and coverfloader

That's not helpful. We need the version numbers for IOS222, 223, and 249.

my post has been updated with the proper ios

@x-out, when does the usb loader fail? Right away, or once u try starting a game (if so, which game?)? Be specific, very specific plz.

it would be helpful to know what base IOSs your 222v4 and your 249v19 have. Global options of cfg loader should be able to tell u what version of 249 and/or 222 is loaded.

edit: your below response just leaves me with more questions, so configurable usb loader works fine? Be specific, if I keep having to bug u for more info, eventually I will just give up on troubleshooting this specific problem

Today I've softmodded the Wii of a friend, all is working fine here but I have one problem: no disc image in disk channel when running backups which is quite annoying. On my Wii I always have the game picture in the disk channel, so what seems to be the problem?
