I dl this guide a few weeks back and I love it. The problem that I am having is that I want to start doing the off line method but I am missing one file and was wondering if you know where I can get it.

3.X - 4.1 Method there was a mod.rar file that I unzipped and there are 4 wad files, 1 folder labeled wad, 1 private folder and one apps folder.
I am missing a folder that is labeled (00000001) is it needed? I no longer have the mod.rar file.

One more question. I have a friend wii that she update thru nintendo to 4.2u and I am going to follow this new guide for 4.2. Once I am done can I downgrade to 4.1U. Once on 4.1 do I have to hack again to get disk to read thru channel?

All, I have just done the Modify 4.2 mod on a brand new Wii that was updated to 4.2u. Everything went fine it seems but after I installed Priiloader I now have no System Menu. I tries to uninstall Priiloader and it fails with some "aborting mission" message. I made a backup with NAND but when I try to restore from the backup it fails. PLEASE PLEASE help! This is a Christmas present to my wife an daughter and I fear that I have trashed it

FWIW, I am pretty technical, I am a software developer and I have hacked a few things in my time. It seems like I just need a way to restore the System Menu and I should be fine.

Edit: OK I tried to re-install Priiloader and now I have a brick. It does not boot up and that is that. SO if you have a new Wii DO NOT DO INSTALL PRIILOADER!!! I JUST BRICKED MY BRAND NEW SYSTEM AND I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. IT DOES NOT WORK!

I have this Chinese d2cpro modchip and on firmware 3.2U. Will updating to 4.2 disable the chip? And which would be better for me, to use the softmod or keep using the modchip?

Also, does this softmod allow GC backups? What are the downfalls to this softmod, like incompatibility with some games or lag or what?

Well, at this time softmod allready is as safe as the chip, if you are doing everything rigt and remember the nand backup with bootmii.
- I cant find a downside for softmod at the moment, i haven't got any games which i could'nt play, so i guess the compatibility is almost at 100%. It plays GC Backups aswell. And the update won't disable your chip.

have you tried rev14 as neogamma doesn't like rev15

I used ATD, loaded IOS36, and deleted 249v15 and 250v15...
I then used WM 1.5 and installed them as v14

Ya, when I saw "Install Either v14 or v15" I was wondering what gets lost with 15 that would make 14 still an option...
Thats why I mentioned it.

That should be added to the guide.
v14 if you wnat to use NeoG
v15 if you what ever what ever...

have u tried holding resent while the wii is powering on? This should get u to the priiloader menu (unless u really are bricked). Also what rev of priiloader did u use, Priiloader v0.1 (rev15), v0.2 (rev30), or the unofficial v0.3 (rev32)

Any help would be eprciated just spend about 4 hours trying to mod my Wii 4.2E and all went surprisingly well.. Till I had to do the last step installing wad files.. For some reason My wii does not recognise that there are wad files on my sd card or it does see the files it just says there are 0MB and when trying to install it comes up with an error message .. cant find wad file error -1 ...
I went over the guide 200 times and cant see what I have done wrong.. My sd card is formatted in ms dos Fat- 16

I have the Wadmanager in the apps folder.
Have wad folder in the root with the following files:
IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad
forwarder-UMRD.wad
cIOS250-v14.wad
IOS249-v14.wad
cIOS223[38+37]-v4.wad
cIOS202[38+60]-v4.wad
cIOS222[38]-v4.wad

it is now 1;41am and at this point I am about to brick my Wii literally... walk in to the garden grap my self a big brick and smash it through the dvd slot into the Wii... lol

double check and make sure your SD card is not locked.

srry to kill your idea right there but im on a new wii. bought this sep. lol

also, it would be nice to know what that "some abort mission" error was. you shouldn't have gone farther then that without asking for instructions... seriously

second... when u 'failed' to uninstall priiloader, there is a second way to uninstall it (by reinstalling the system menu wad). If u had tried that, maybe u'd be better off right now.

On the bright side... wii's are cheap! Go buy ur fam a new one and hopefully u have better luck next time

@ frankencat, sorry to hear about your loss (may your wii rest in pieces in Daco's basement, lol).

But seriously, if u are going to trash your wii anyway, you may as well send it to Daco (w/ nand dump & keys). It may lead to even better revisions of Priiloader in the future, which we can all benefit from (including yourself once u get another wii). You may want to PM him for mailing info (as I doubt that's public knowledge, lol).

Again, sorry 2 hear about ur brick, but every cloud has a silver lining, hopefully u can help Daco find it!.
