I was wondering about something.

Does the included hacks.ini support all the other System Menu's like the european version of SM 4.2? Or is it only the american version?

Cheers for a lovely guide.

Awesome. Just got it to work after needing to re-patch IOS70 after updating Preloader to .30

Anyhow I'm getting some trouble. In the loader I'm trying to access the System Menu hacks but I'm getting the error message where it can't find the .ini neither in the NAND or on the FAT device. I've made sure that my Micro SD card is compatible (I'm using a SD/SDHC? thing, never failed before) as a FAT file system and that it's present in both the root of the SD and in the Preloader folder.

Any suggestions here? :s

yup completely offline the with the files pack from the guide.

if anything tried to connect online, you have an outdated file pack.

I downloaded it from the email two days ago, so I'm sure it's not outdated now. Okay I'm gonna get modding my friends wii soon

hello ive installed everything perfectly with 4.2e but i just wanted to know, when i go to data management/channels and sd card, it shows on the first page all the channels installed and when i go to the 2nd page the page crashes and my wii remote starts vibrating non stop until i switch the wii off.

also is it safe to install the cios installer usb support for mplayer ce as it installs ios202 and the tutorial mentioned to install custom ios202 with 4.2e.

the cios installer of mplayer ce is the same thing as the installer in the tutorial, you already have USB2.0 speeds
sounds like you still have bannerbomb on your sd card
delete this folder private\wii\title\aktn

Maybe I'm just a little slow but how do you get the newmod.rar to start the modding process? I sent off an e-mail like the guide says to do but haven't received anything that shows a download link. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I have a virgin 4.2U that I used the newmod newmod method on. I followed the instructions to a tee and when I reboot after all is complete, I get an error saying that the system files are corrupt. Fortunately, I can still boot into Bootmii and restore using my NAND backup. I did that once and then went thru the process again, and got the same error. So, I restored one more time and thought that perhaps I should update via Nintendo, but it says I can't as I am already on 4.2. Any idea what the problem might be?

Lost at this part
HBC installed
DVDX installed
Bootmii installed as IOS... something about boot1 not letting me install boot2

1)do I exit from the installation menu and go into hbc?
** got it working now.. waiting for the backup NAND

2) when it says to backup the NAND elsewhere do I remove the SD card and backup the file or folder on my computer then put back in the sd card and contuine from 1A?

Started with 4.1E. Updated BootMii, HBC, and DVDX before upgrading.

I updated using the safe 4.2 updater by zektor, fixed IOS 36 + 70, then used the preloader 0.30 installer by phpgeek.

@xzxero
Maybe you might want to update your packages + tutorial one last time hehe.

hmmm...don't think so. How do I do that? Also it is preloader .29 that I am using (the one that comes in the bundle). Should I be using .30?
