Modding Skyrim

First things first ...
i had a drink of some sweet argonian ale, so this might be impossible to read and understand (sorry if so).

number 2...
i wont be able to help everyone (I work 50 hrs. a week. not sorry).

Requirements (
I can't help you with theese search the forum)

working layeredFS Setup
Physical copy of skyrim (Actual Cartridge)
Extracted romfs Of Skyrim (Search up HacToolGUI)
Switch Keys (Dont Know Dont Ask. They exist, and thats all i have to say about that)

Step one dump your skyrim cart using WAINCartDumperNX (search the forum)

copy the game.xci to your pc from sd card


use HactoolGUI with your keys to extract the xci file to a folder named skyrim

use HactoolGUI to extract the largest .nca file from HactoolGUI/skyrim/secure/ (roughly or exactly 15,015,696 KB) to a folder named romfs

have your switch sd card inserted into your pc and navigate to SD:/atmosphere/titles

create a folder named "01000A10041EA000" without the quotes. enter said folder.

create a folder called "romfs" no quotes.

create another folder named "Data" no quotes. Csae Sensitive! Data With A big D!

ok now for the actual mod files ...

create an account and download that mod. (under the files tab then manual download)

or any mod? (some wont work, see note below!)

I make sure they dont use SKSE because im not sure that we got that, or ever will?

NOTE : FROM bedbug1226,

I would make sure to let people know that only meshes,some scripts and esm/esp mods work unless you convert the textures and sounds required.

extract Cheating Chests - (riverwood or whiterun).esp to SD:/atmosphere/titles/01000A10041EA000/romfs/Data/Cheating Chests - (riverwood or whiterun).esp

I rename it to cheat.esp for simplicity.

copy FROM THE EXTRACTED ROMFS FOLDER, TO THE SD ROMFS FOLDER Skyrim.ini

so all in all on your sd card you should have ...

SD:atmosphere/titles/01000A10041EA000/romfs/Data/cheat.esp
SD:atmosphere/titles/01000A10041EA000/romfs/Skyrim.ini

Next Step edit Skyrim.ini with notepad or whatever.
under the line sTestFile4=Hyrule.esm (Line Number 14?) add
sTestFile5=cheat.esp

save,
exit,
renisert sd to switch,
load up hekate with layered fs or however you prefer,
boot skyrim,
run to whiterun under the bridge and see a chest ?
if not maybe im dumb or maybe youre dumb (not sure until tomorrow)

Anywho i've spent enough time on this for the moment. there are some giants waiting to be killed outside of whiterun.

so theres no way to convert the nsfw mods to switch huh?

I dont believe so unless you convert the textures? Join the discord they have tools but im not sure if they work as of now. I do know that if the mods require skse they will not work and *probably* (?) Wont ever work.

anyway to get the mods to work without having to extract a full dump on the game? a bit on the annoying side tbf

You could just find a copy of someones dumped skyrim.ini then all you need is mods.

Ive seen someone post one in the discord.

i cant get bsa files to work, help

im trying to use a patched ordinator/apocolypse mod as well as unbound, but when ever i load a new save, unbound freezes and when i load and existing save, certain things dont work or show up such as the alchemy table and spells, im really lost, i put directed the bsa files to the ini, and tried both lines 1 and 2 but neither worked, can someone please help?

remember to add any bsas to the sResourceArchive line as well.

Also, someone screw with the "haptic lockpick sweet spot differential" (or whatever it's called) setting and tell me what it does, I'm curious to see if you can make the sweet spot vibrate more for lockpicking, and that looks like a related setting.

Things that use textures will "work" but the textures wont load properly. But, for example in Ordinator the textures BSA doesn't seem to matter as long as it's loaded, I haven't noticed any corrupt textures yet.
how did you get ordinator to work? doesnt look like perks showed up for me

Finally figured out the keys thing and I remembered this thread required it so I came back to follow this awesome guide... but I cant seem to get hactool gui to run for me, does it require other stuff on my pc to open?

Does this work on SX OS?

i hear you ned to rename the atmosphere folder to sxos for it to work? version 1.9 has layeredfs built in to SXOS?

has anyone who uses SXOS got this to work???

I want to use EZ2C DIALOGUE MENU.
I drop file dialoguemenu.cfg and dialoguemenu.swf of EZ2C to 01000A10041EA000\romfs\Data\Interface but in game nothing change and dialogue not go to left side of screen.
