Hacking MiiWii

Hey.

Just want to say THANKS for all your hard work you put it on to this. Everything seems to work exceptionally fine, except one thing.

I can't get the Wii to play my copied version of SSBB. It's the full DL version, copied to a Verbatim DVD+R DL, at 4x Speed, with the suggested Layer Break applied. No dice.

So, my question is, do I need to re-copy it at a slower speed...? Do I need to copy it without the layer break?

Uhm... that's strange. I tested two SSBBs: With and w/o manually layer break and both are working fine!?
With MiiWii 0.3b it crashes on some Wiis during Intro Video and sometime in Story-Mode. That does not happen with the new version and the new patched (c )IOSes.

You may try a reburn!?

Yes SSBBs is working on my Wii. It crashed before, on intro...And after changing my video mode even JAPAN discs that didn't work in the disc channel before work now.

Could it be a possibility that because I installed the WiiGator loader before this (installed this one to play SSBB) that this loader could be preventing me from playing DL disks? I followed these instructions to install this loader. Could it be the files used in this installation that is preventing this loader from working...?

What do you recommend? Removing all HBC related things, upgrading to 3.4 firmware and re-installing everything? Or not..?

You don't have to remove all your stuff!

Please... are you sure you followed the manual from step1? Please take a look at the new update 0.5b and follow everything beginning at PreInstaller.
Did you dump this copy of SSBB from the original disc?

Can't even install Preloader anymore. I give up =/

Ok, now I need some help. Since Preloader won't install, my start screen when I turn my Wii on is what it says when I attempt to turn my Wii on - Cannot find file.

How can I get rid of this and get the default start screen back up?

Yes, please run the PreInstaller again, cause you have to reconfigure Starfall and Preloader with clean hacks in this update.

I have formatted my SD card, and ran the .exe file etc. I try to install everything, and when it gets to Preloader it doesn't work. Says ROOT: The file is not found.

I try MiiWii uninstaller, THAT doesn't work. I select SD Card when I go on to it, and it says no files found.

All I want is to get my original Wii status back to try and re-install this software, and I can't even do that for god's sake =/

You have to hold RESET-Button when you turn on your Wii to run Preloader and reinstall your Preloader settings!

I clicked on Preloader, pressed 1, and held down RESET. When I get to the Error screen, a huge list of codes appeared on the screen. After pressing RESET a couple more times the Wii crashes.

So... now what...?

I did not write "press 1 and hold RESET".

- Please run PreInstaller
- Install and configure Starfall as explained in the manual
- Run Preloader Hack Remover as explained in the manual
- Install Preloader
- Turn of you Wii completely (red light) after installing Preloader
- Hold reset and turn on your Wii
- Configure Preloader as explained in the manual
- Go on with the rest

Wait, I forgot to ask.

Everytime I install Preloader, it gets to the part where it says "Loading Preloader" then switches to the "ROOT: File cannot be found" screen. Does this matter at all?

Edit: It worked. I successfully installed MiiWii.

But, again, I cannot play SSBB.

How did you burn yours?

What programme? What speed? What layer break?

Oh, and it doesn't really matter I guess, but when I turn the Wii on, the H&S Warning is gone, but the MiiWii startup screen doesn't appear. Just the white boxes that flash across the screen when exiting to the main menu etc.

Thanks for the help. Would appreciate help with the SSBB issue still. I have used AnyRegionChanger to get rid of most things and re-install MiiWii completely but it still didn't work.

The password for the installer is different.

BTW your new installer is not very nice for us Linux users. I ran it using WINE and it was in German.... Sprechst du Deutsch?
