Gary Bowser was the salesman and figurehead but, as far as I know, not one of the ones in charge or an engineer. The other member's Nintendo named in their lawsuit were a French national Max Louarn and a Chinese national Yuanning Chen. Max managed to return to France and under French law, French citizens cannot be extradited. Not sure what happened to Yuanning.

If they get lucky. The real talent seems to have left TX a while ago.
They have to be real careful now that names of the people involved with them are known. That means completely cutting ties with all the people named. Who knows if there's enough people left to continue after that.

Yuanning Chen who engineers the mod chips is my guess. Gary and Max, of course, mostly does sales and other business work for TX.

Totally a risky business model if you're aiming towards modding Nintendo consoles.

Max was probably more involved than anyone else. He has been part of the hacking scene for decades.

I really hope not. We need less closed-source trash in the homebrew scene
Especially not stuff with anti-tamper that’ll take your system hostage for trying to reverse-engineer it.
Or y’know, just brick your system outright in an attempt to kill clone carts if Moon Channel’s (the lawyer, not the plagiarist doomer) claim that Gateway was also Team Xecuter.

Its known they Gateway was part of Max and Bowser. Anything GaryOPA peddeled or made heavy advertisement for he and max had their hands in.

Anything that was heavily advertised on MaxConsole was most definitely a Team Xecuter product.

It was the release of v2.0b2 that bricked consoles (including original carts due to a coding error), and maybe a few more versions that did or did not.

Some would give you a 'fake card' error and not brick the console, whilst others would boot into GW Mode just fine and it's only when you reboot the console that it is bricked.

This is taken from the legal documents of GaryOPA's court case. Not sure if he commited to it tho, maybe it's just what Nintendo said

I've had run ins with whoever was the face of TX. That guy was an ass and was personally banned from the website by him. If they do return, I hope that the customer service and PR improves lol.

I won't deny the extent of their unethical conduct but they did start 3DS hacking and developed a modchip for the Switch which no homebrewer would have created out of fear of Nintendo's wrath.

IIRC there was an open-source modchip for Erista Switches which got canceled following legal threats from Nintendo. Nintendo didn't take action against the Picofly presumably because SX clones were already widespread at that time.

I don't think the revival of TX is what we need. But a new team that can unlock the Switch 2 without anything selling Nintendo's code or piracy related. Similar to atmosphere where you have to get the piracy enable stuff elsewhere.

Atmosphere is open source. Feel free to add cartridge simulation modules. Why risk breaking a system that is already broken. And the Switch 2 will fall faster, since there is experience thanks to its first model, but it will require a modchip and I hope it doesn't come from Team Xecuter, otherwise you want to get a paperweight. Support open source by paying for better homebrews to be developed, Xecuter never did (only for Tinfoil who was associated as their personal launcher and their dev is already a good guy making friendly ports)

well the modchips were introduced by TX and then cloned by the community. Without TX OLED switches might still be unhacked

Who knows if we'll ever get to see a Switch 2 mod chip by the same people. Fingers crossed.
