Yeah!

I don't know why 18.1.0 works but it's good to know.

At least in my case, the update 1.2.0 for Galaxy 1+2 doesn't enable the S2 enhancements, it runs the S1 version (1080p, not 4k)
Yes, the upgrade isn't sent. The good thing is that the game opens.

A user here has two S2s. He uses one console in mig with public dumps for playing and another S2 with public dumps only for updates. So he sends the update with enhancements, but he no longer posts here. I don't know if his method still works.

He no longer posts here because he got banned I’m sure

It’s been over a year now and everyone thinks they know more and are safe with public dumps while no one else is

People like to fuck around and finding out I guess lol

Yeah! for the enhancements we need a S2 for transferring the updates.

Maybe we could find a way to trigger that with a CFW switch, but tbh I don't know where is the flag located. maybe in the ticket?

Yeah, in my opinion Mig with public dumps is 100% ban, but its function is still admirable, along with the wonderful people who donate these dumps, thanks. I hope the user didn’t get banned—or at least managed to download some good updates with enhancements to play for a while. Still, the user could sell the banned S2 and buy a new S2 and do the same process again and wait for another ban. It’d be like buying a batch of S2s just to do a voltage glitch and stuff like that and have them all fry. At the very least, selling one that’s banned gets you something back—unless you sell the fried ones as parts.

Yeah, in my opinion Mig with public dumps is 100% ban
100% is when something has already been proven, as was the case with bans for using incomplete dumps (with two bin files) and mixed dumps (with bin files from another game). But when you simply assume something, it's not 100% certain.
It's very easy to scare users with your assumptions (which are not based on anything).
Since the first wave of bans for using MIG firmware 1.1.9, I haven't seen a single public message about bans on the latest MIG firmware versions.
I was once informed in private messages about a ban for testing S2 graphics updates downloaded from eShop.

For using public dumps taken from somewhere?
Can you provide links to these messages here or in PM?

For example, there's a Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 mixed dump circulating online right now that will definitely get you banned.

My “100%” comment was misunderstood. I do sometimes recommend Mig Switch, but it really depends on each user’s situation. I understand there are variations — on one hand, having all the correct files helps avoid a ban; on the other, having incorrect files makes a ban more likely.

I would never say Mig Switch doesn’t work — it’s very useful when certain rules are followed.

The “100%” part was just a comment based on what someone does, doesn’t do, or is currently doing.

Still, I understand that based on user analysis, clear conclusions can be reached depending on certain factors.

Yes no. It’s been over a year and I wrote the main mig thread

You’re not special this has been proven. Time and time again and researched to death over the years…the information is out there im not going back and grabbing all the links again because someone else thinks they know more without putting in the work lol

And yes getting a game from the internet (somewhere else) is a public dump

I said I haven't seen any new Switch 2 ban reports since the first wave, which happened four months ago. You said people are still getting banned. I asked you for proof, and you said those reports were from a year ago, when Switch 2 didn't exist yet.

It's not nice to be rude to people you don't know, and even more so to consider yourself smarter than them.
There are people who have done more for the Mig community than you, but they don’t brag about it or act like you.

You’re absolutely right I could have worded things better. Bragging was not the intention but more so, that this isn’t like some completly unknown mysterious force. Nintendo switch 2 uses the same exact OS which we know how it works .. including Nintendo logging everything still. So going around stating that it’s safe when it’s been proven time and time again is a very dangerous thing to be doing. Sure bans might have slowed down but that doesn’t mean Nintendo isn’t still collecting logs. You telling people it’s safe is just going to increase the next ban wave size. Apart from the ones that are getting banned in between the waves

It’s like saying stealing from the target is okay now because they no longer care enough to say anything to stop you..

So you’re correct I apologize for being overly blunt. But you are also not doing much better at going around stating your information as fact. Especially when There is much more evidence around for public dumps about causing bans than not…cause using public dumps has been leading to a system ban eventually.

I am happy you and others have been safe. But it won’t be for long and going around saying you will be safe forever is extremely unsafe for the community as a whole. When there’s plenty of evidence to show that it is not safe..it’s not like Nintendo has had a reason to stop caring yet either..

A lot of game companies in the past have let things roll to gather logs and do a mass investigation/ ban while tighting their logs in the future as well when it comes to piracy. That is not unheard of. Microsoft was notorious for doing that on Xbox 360 and flashed dvd drives. They would play cat and mouse than go silent for 6+ months until a big game is released. Log those users, and start banning everyone. Not just those using that game

You telling people it’s safe
I've never said anywhere that using Mig is safe. On the contrary, I always say that using Mig is a lottery, which you can lose at any moment and get banned. Therefore, those planning to use Mig should be clearly aware of this.

However, I fundamentally disagree with many who say that a ban for using Mig is 100% guaranteed. Yes, there's always a chance (even when using genuine, full public dumps), but it's definitely not 100%.

Regarding public dumps, you can't lump them all together and say they're all dangerous. Personally, I trust only one source (MegaTorrent), which doesn't contain the mixed dumps that fill Facebook groups, Telegram groups, and Discord channels. Anyone who uses these groups and channels will inevitably get banned for using mixed dumps.

I only care about users who use dumps from MegaTorrent. That's why I'm interested in any reports of bans for these dumps, both on Switch 1 and Switch 2.

And since a ban is more of a matter of time, it was more important for me to understand (and tell others) how to use Switch with MIG after a ban. And now (after testing with several users), it's clear that there are no problems with locally transferring updates to the banned Switch 2. The main requirement is having a second Switch.

Yeah and in some cases in 18.1.0 firmware!

and in cases of S1 games with enhancements, another S2 lol

Im not banned yet.... still using 2 switch 2.

Switch 2 A --> mig switch games loaded and updated (not launched).
Switch 2 B --> mig switch games loaded updated via local update and always offline.

Switch 2 A formated after used for update games and then used that console for playing my online original games (dk bananza, mk world etc) not banned yet. Using this method since switch 2 launch date.

Well fuck

Looks like they waited for a big game release

Account bans are insane, new ground for Nintendo. Guess that EULA update was not just fear mongering.

You risk losing all your purchased games, all saves, all friends, EVERYTHING if you get account banned.
