Official statement from MIG with a video demonstration of the upcoming update.
There is a new firmware version 1.1.9 on their .com website (I heard that it is official and .net is a US reseller???). The .net site only has 1.1.8.
I tried downloading it yesterday, and it did not work, but today it downloaded the firmware.

Version 1.1.9 is before the Switch 2 launch. I know since I downloaded this a few weeks ago.

I'm interested in homebrew, if I understand well, an XCI is supposed to come with some sort of keys (I guess), so that it's legit to Big N eyes ?
Thus, I can imagin there will never be any solution to work with homebrews (especially Retroarch and Mame) and the Mig Switch unless there's a way to "sign" or validate the homebrew, is that right ?
Yep, that's correct.

Can someone explain this, please? Wasn't the migswitch on the first title, and he launched the third title? It's blurry but seems like echoes of wisdom is the first one, and the one the migswitch is attached to. (I don't own a mig switch nor a switch 2 so please correct me)

To me, it looks like before he inserted the MIG, echoes was in the first space, but without the little 'inserted cart' icon next to the pic. When it pushed in the MIG, the 'inserted cart' icon activated. He then pushed the button on the MIG and the next game became active on the MIG. I think he pushed the MIG button again and it went back to echoes of wisdom, and he then launches it.

Agree on it being blurry but I think people are saying it's legit. They might be trying to make it look so bad so they don't draw too much attention or they are just bad at making videos.

Ah, got it. I thought he launched the main zelda game, but he launched echoes (I checked the JP title)

Nope. It's pretty much a cartridge that can store multiple games at once and you can switch between them by ejecting the cartridge (v1) or pressing the physical button on top of it (v2). I made a post here about pros and cons about using the MIG Switch.

No it is just for playing either backups of your own games (need the MIG dumper) or for playing pirated copies you can find online. No homebrew, no CFW.

So its worth to grab a Mig2? any good reseller that's trustworthy?

I assume switch 2 games are not yet dumped?

There probably won't be switch 2 games dumped until switch 2 keys are embedded into the mig firmware, and there's only one switch 2 game so far, Mario Kart World, (title id: 0400C3F00006E000), and that to my knowledge does not have a raw romdump out, it'd be nice if there was, so one could access the update partition which has the switch 2 firmware files.

Thanks.i already have Mario kart world, nso 1 year membership Just activate and i keep 1 switch v1 with atmo,i think i can resist until cfw came out for switch2

just updated to the latest migflash firmware just now. titles show up, but still met with "Couldn't start the software" error. Might be a problem with my SD card. I'm going to wipe the sd card clean and start over see if that works.

update: didn't work. maybe because i'm on the latest switch2 update? the titles were dumped with my own cartridges and the dumps have the whole complete set of bins

update2: everything good. bonehead move on my part. macOS auto unzips the firmware. And when it did, it renamed it "update2.s2", because I already had an older update file in the directory. So migswitch never got the new update at all, no wonder it wasn't working. all my backups work fine now
