Hacking [MH4U] Is it possible to convert MH4G save data into MH4U?

I have been playing MH4G for the past 2 months and since MH4U is coming soon can i check if there are any possibilities to convert my 4G save into a 4U save?

It's likely fairly possible. What it comes down to is whether or not they have the exact same format and if the save has a secure-ish checksum. If they're 1:1, you can just savedatafiler it over. If they're not but there's no/a weak checksum, you can probably paste your important data (progression, items, etc) over from your old save with some careful hex editing and be fine.

I can't personally decrypt MH4G saves at the moment, so I can't specifically say which of these is true.

Vuze had a tumblr article about him successfully converting his 4G savedata to 4U.

He's since deleted the post.
It required lots of things, including SaveDataFiler, a CyberGadget ($120), and possibly Powersaves to inject it back into the cart (if you have a physical copy, if digital you can use SaveDataFiler).
It also required some special MH4G decryption tools that he didnt release (said the developer of them wasnt gonna release yet) but since he deleted his post im assuming its not gonna be released.

Better yet, save from MH4 to MH4G to MH4U all my progress is in MH4, but with only roms of the games and a gateway I haven't found any way to achieve that.

At least from MH4 to MH4G it might work by converting the roms into card2 as in MH3U? The problem is how to convert the .sav into card2, is there a way now? (or nvm, just remembered gw also doesn't auto load games without using the select button...)

lets just hope the save architecture is the same.... playing low level quests and searching for mushrooms' a pain really.....
