Looks like the V1.3 firmware is almost ready. Let's hope they don't charge for it.

Anyone else sick of waiting for this? I know it's a free project but has anyone heard anything about the release? When I e-mail them it's always just a few days away.

very sick of waiting for it mate, eager to have it ofcourse, but it's been quite some time now and the useability of the current firmware is absolutely good for nothing to me except for being able to boot swapmagic quickly from the memor32, which i wouldnt have paid for had i know thats _all_ i was going to be able to do with it...

ofcourse the new fimrware should be a big improvement, but as you said, still waiting on it for some time now.

Just some news for those who have given up on this product (ie Australians) Apparently someone managed to get a reply from the Memento team. They say that they are hoping for a June release for the new 1.3 Firmware. Good news for sure but I'm not going to hold my breath. Might turn blue or something.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.

Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
