Installed MelonDS, works great! Then next time I went to launch an NSP, my console black screened. Does it everytime I try to launch an NSP now. Please help!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Installed the new version of MelonDS, works great. Now every time I go to open an NSP, my console black screens, though. Please help!

What CFW are you using? You instaled the NSP or only the .nro? If not, how do you launch it? I installed first the NSP but then got rid of it and launch it via homebrew pressing R. No need for the NSP

I can't get the rom list to show up. I was also confused about the instructions; the "roms" folder goes on the root of the sd card right? and by "/nds" you're saying to create a folder, right? Not that the .nds's themselves go into "/roms"? Either way I tried both options and they still aren't showing up, not sure what to do.
perhaps it supports both ds and nds folder names? but mines always been /roms/ds
that's emberassing. /roms/nds is wrong it's /roms/ds, I uploaded a fixed version to the original post

atmosphere title override is the only supported way of running the emulator

SX OS

Tried launching both XCI files and NSPs and all black-screened.

I'm using the .nro file for MelonDS' latest version with the files organized as instructed in the post.

Turns out it was an issue with Sys-Clock not playing nicely with MelonDS. Not sure exactly how. I was able to launch Sys-Clk and change settings, but still ended up with black screens every time for switch games. It wasn't until I deleted Sys-Clk and all related title files, config files, etc that the issue went away.

I can now use MelonDS and launch and play all my NSPs and XCI files with no problem.

I'm not sure if the built in overclock capability of MelonDS doesn't jive with Sys-Clk's overclocking in some way or what, but deleting all Sys-Clk files cleared the problem up.

TL/DR: Somehow, using Sys-Clk and MelonDS on my switch with SX OS cfw caused my Switch NSPs and XCIs to black screen at launch until I deleted Sys-Clk and all its related config and title files.

Hmm. Well I was able to get it working in SX OS via the albums tab without having to give full RAM permission, oddly enough. Runs amazingly well. I even got Resident Evil DS running at full speed. Incredible build.

CatLover you're the man. Thank you so much for this!

is there a means to increase the second screen size in Horizontal (Emphasize Top) ? when say increasing the gap, it'd be nice to increase the size of the second screen

@catlover007 just wondering if you could add a feature regarding screen space, there is dead space next to the selected screen when using emphasis on top/bottom, could you move it so the smaller screen can be enlarged? heres some pictures to explain what i'm requesting.

SX OS is not supported in any way you're lucky if it works somehow

I never really noticed it (I copied the code from @Hydr8gon :D), but sure, it put it together with integer scaling onto my todo list

that and Sound issues (some effects in battle, Wild and enemy trainer peokemon dont play thier cry or any actions they do play an SFX, those two is what for me keeps this almost a 100% Replacement to DraStic on a Pi4.

Can you give me an more concrete description? The Pokemon cry issue was solved in the last release (just double checked it myself in HG), it was only a minor frontend mistake (the left channel was used to output both stereo channels).

Hello @catlover007

Awesome release! With some overclocking most games I’ve tried are full speed! One request if possible in the future... it would be nice when you rotate the screen, that the UI also rotates the same degree? It’s minor but would be so convenient especially when using the switch vertical with the FlipGrip! Thanks!

i grabbed the one you link in the OP to the build with ARM64JIT

(for an view of whats going on)

that's not the newest version anymore. The newest release came just a few days ago, see it's post here https://gbatemp.net/threads/melonds-for-switch.518300/page-47#post-8948531

I really need to start my own thread...

dude if you watch video and read my post and his catlover wants a flipgrip and it aint easy for him to get one. I just started a new gig and sadly my "checks are in the mail" until direct deposit kicks in which really sucks. But he said if we buy him one he will look into it. I promised him one in the next 2 weeks but if you want to step up to the plate that is what he wants which i personally feel is FAIR. if you can't swing it I would appreciate you joining forces with me. Considering the value to the community as a whole I think it isn't too much to ask and catlover deserves it.

Hey @catlover007 whats the easiest way to get you one of the FlipGrips? Donation, ship one to you? Next paycheck, I might be able to afford one to donate for all the work you’ve done.

@catlover007
"Blue dragon Plus"doesnt work ....
unchecking Branch and literal optimisations....
