In short it appears to be Marvel want a piece of the lego star wars/harry potter/indiana jones pie although I am also reminded of the PS1 Star Wars: Episode 1 game.
Anyhow speculation on the upcoming films with marvel characters and the possible infinity guantlet thing at comic con aside (this one is based on the spinoff Marvel Super Hero Squad franchise) this looks to be a nice simplified third person beat em up/adventure game apparently with a bit of co-op for good measure. I suspect it will be more streets of rage than bauldurs gate and it should be mentioned marvel games have had a wildly varying past in terms of quality.
There is also a battle mode that one could easily be forgiven for thinking about super smash brothers when seeing.
