I like to use drybones with his tank because he has great handling and acceleration. I read that you get a longer boost from powersliding when you have a high acceleration.

By the way, I find it a pain in the ass to pull off a powerslide, it seems like I have to rock the d-pad back and forth more than twice to get it to register. It's supposed to just be left right left right according to the manual (or right left right left).

Just bought this game last night.
Anyways I'm just getting used to it.
Played through the first grand prix on the 50cc circuit.
It seems really easy so far, but I hope it gets better ?

This is my first mario kart game and basically got it on word of mouth, but
I can tell this is a lot different than a typical racing game.

WHy is it so hard for me and my firends to play against each other?

We have each other's friend codes registered, we search at the same time, connect around the same time, we see blue icons but we can never enter the games.

We also tried switching between roms 0168 and 0201 but still the same thing. anyone have a clue?

I've been playing a little Mario Kart Battle mode and not sure if I am doing it properly. It says to blow into the microphone to inflate your other balloons (you start with one). I blow as hard as I can but I get no more balloons.

I know my mic isn't broken because I just played Brain Age and did the colour saying quiz and it worked fine.

u can also press and hold select to blow up ur balloons

the Nintendo Wifi Connection sucks in general...I really hope it'll work better on the Wii, or in later WiFi enabled DS games...

Mario Kart DS has the worst online mode I've ever seen...12 tracks are completely missing, most of them for no reason...if one player leaves the game, the game will stop and bring you back to the main WFC menu...noobs cry if you win a race by snaking... it takes ages to find players online and start a game...I stopped playing online shortly after I got the game...in fact, I don't play the game at all anymore, because MKDD is better (and if you don't like MKDD, MK64 is still better)

I wonder why Nintendo didn't just use the same online system PC games have been using for 8 years, which work perfectly
Your a dull boy billy...

I _NEVER_ have problems finding people to play on Mario Kart DS within 2-3 minutes. There are always ppl online, even @ 4 in the morning.
If someone disconnects, it DOES NOT stop the game. That's only on local single DS kart play. If all 3 drop out because you're pwning them, who cares, chalk up some more win points. It doesnt drop you from WFC, just rejoin a new game. It's like you never even played it, get your facts straight.

Mario Kart DS is like MK64 on CRACK minus the map glitches/cheats and waaaay improved snaking. I wish they had ported the Wario Stadium from 64 though. The DS version of Rainbow Road is total ownage.

The only thing that can make the DS online play suck is where there are alot of cheaters/hacked rom a__holes online.

I played MK DS with some friends through friend codes and it was pretty sweet. I'm having trouble getting gold in 150cc Special Cup, I keep on getting silver dammit. Do you really get 7 different karts for each character or is it just reused karts that have already been unlocked?

Aw lame, I just unlocked it and they're all old karts. Except that robbie one I guess. But it's crappy.

Once you've mastered snaking (like me) the game will become so easy on ALL difficulty modes that it will get boring after a while. I don't even come second in any races.
