A beta version of the tool has been released! Keep in mind that there are a few restrictions when using this software.
  • You must use 3DSMax (at least the 2010 version). So Blender or any other 3D modeling application is out of the question for now.
  • You will need to provide a BFRES file, it currently can not generate BFRES files from scratch.
  • Your imports have to be less than or equal to the amount of the vertices and triangles that you want to inject your model into.
  • You can only make use of textures that are with the BFRES base file (Might need a little more clarification on this).

Well, I know many are trying and developing new hacks and mods for Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU but, don´t know if any already addressed that, but, it would be possible to change the item mechanics on the game?

Not copying the ones they did with Deluxe and the double itens system, but, instead, go back to way things were in MKWii, with the option to get your item and "put it into the kart", releasing the slot in the proccess

It would change things only for Bananas, Shells and the Bob-omb but, I think it would help the game´s pace to have an even better approach to the classic Mario Karts, and, probably would only need small changes on the game´s code

It´s just an idea but maybe someone already made something like this, let me know if this would be possible! :)
 
Has anyone gotten sdCafiine to work on Coldboot Haxchi? I've tried many solutions to get it running but I've run into dead ends.
  • Coldboot Haxchi doesn't seem to support FxHax. Therefore, the cfw doesn't have sd_access.
  • Mocha CFW + FxHax does load from Coldboot Haxchi. But loading sdCafiine leads to a crash.
 
I've been using that one. Though I did reinstall it now since you mention it. Still same results however.

Something new I discovered, Smash 4 mods uses both Haxchi and sdCafiine. So I know it has to be possible.
You see, Mocha (not the official one) is needed for SD access.
Smash already has granted SD access and doesn't need Mocha.

I've launched "Mocha CFW + FXHax" elf and then launched sdCafiine but that leads into a crash. And MK8 mods do work from a cfw-less boot into Mocha CFW + FXHax + sdCafiine.

Edit: Okay so it still works if I change the settings on Mocha to NOT relaunch the OS on boot. Thank fricken goodness.

All I'm interested in is disabling bloom lighting and fog effects to make the game's colors clear and unblurred/unadulterated. I've been avoiding playing Mario Kart 8 for this, because I feel like I'm being robbed of color. There's a code for Mario Kart Wii that achieves this.

For Mario Kart 8, would I have to edit the BGENV files for each course or something? Where do I begin? Do we need some sort of magic video hack code?
 
So I'm trying to edit some voices in this and I'm a little confused like the voices are in bfwav after being extracted like how am I supposed to convert the voices I want to use to replace the voices with?
 
Hey, I wanted to know how to run these mods with Mario Kart 8 on loadiine with a smash wii u copy installed from the Usb method, is that possiable? Can someone walk me through how to install smash wii u from usb method to run mario kart 8 mods?

I have mario kart 8 on loadiine. I load it with mii maker and can only play the game unedited/no dlc. I have not tried to edit the original game with mods but I figure it may not work. Ive learned to run the game with updates/dlc its need Smash Wii U as the loading method then mii maker. So im guessing to run mods on mario kart 8 i would also need Smash Wii U right? Or could I just edit the original one?

You can add the mod as an update.
You don't need Smash for that.

Unless your mod is meant for updated MK8, then yes, you need Smash.

I see, so how do I go about making an update for the original mario kart 8 loaded through mii maker? Or just edit the existing files already in the content folder?
