Bros this is not even a joke or a "OMG FUNNI RIKROLL TROLLY!"...I am legit fucking freaked out.
So I was watching one of those "Mario 64 copies are personalized" videos and one brought up a Toad Shrine. Then he showed a image of it. I paused the video and just had a flashback. I remember when I was a kid I was playing Mario 64 DS and I remember going into a floor on peach's castle and seeing a orange toad statue. I really thought nothing of it back then, I thought it was part of the game. That was like 10 years ago so I no longer have the copy of the game (I have one but not the same one as then) and no images cause again, I knew nothing about these personalized things back then. I am really fucking spooked right now. This is not even a joke. I saw this in my game as a kid and thought nothing of it. So this proves the theory is true and that Mario 64 ds copies are personalized too? I know some will think I am lying, and if you want to think so than that's your choice. But I know I am not. Heres a image I found on a wiki of what it looks like.:O:wacko::unsure:

If you're serious, it's most likely a false memory. You might have read about this hoax years ago, and recall it as an event happening to you.

Also this is the first time this happened. Cause I don't recall any of the other things happening. I literally remember sitting at the end of my bed playing the game and seeing it. I still remember every detail. It's not a false memory.

Must be a false memory, or a glitch that looked like that, because the toad shrine thing is 100% a hoax for the N64 version, let alone for the DS. There is no model or reference in the game for it.

I remember I was on the end of my bed
It was like 7 or 8 at night
I was playing mario 64 for the ds
I was in peach's castle and there was stairs to a fourth floor by the outside door (Where the L is real thing is)
I went up there and was a couple hallways and a orange toad statue
I looked through the hallways and there was just dead ends
I thought it was a part of the game for later on so I just walked back into the main room

I recall walking on the street with my mother, when suddenly accross the street I saw Chucky, from the Child's play movies. He looked at me, and when I turned my head he was gone. I clearly remember every detail of that moment, and I've thought a lot about that event.

Clearly, it could never actually happened. Somewhere, my memory of that event got corrupted. Or my infant brain tricked me into seeing it.

It's the same for you. There is no possible way this could have happened, as it isn't real. There is no such thing as the Toad Shrine, or a fourth floor in the castle.

You wouldn't believe how many memories we have, that turn out to be false. Even if we can recall every single moment, there is still a chance that it's fake. Especially those when we were kids.

You know, I wonder when we will reach the point where the false memories of people have of this game will be because they are remembering the DS version instead.

That's going to make a fun time indeed.
I don't think people are going back to it these days as some kind of definitive version, there does not seem to be much of a speedrun setup for this compared to original and Wii emulator versions either. To that end between emulated versions and the PC/source ports then I imagine it is only going to be more and more of an afterthought or footnote.

For me if you want to emulate the DS the best option is on Android, use DraStic and a controller that holds your phone... it's clunky but it works insanely well. The next best option in my opinion is using a New 3DS XL, not really emulation but hacked it works really well.

As about DS, it's from the few consoles I prefer playing on the actual hardware, especially because of the consoles' hardware that make it not so practical to emulate (double screens, touch countrols etc). Besides DS and is cheap and flashcards are cheap as hell. Or you can buy a 3DS and mod it so you can play DS games too (since 3DS officially has back compatibility with DS games

@Dark_Raven1997 I'd say start from scratch, but make sure you disable Windows Defender and keep the window to it open, or it will re-activate itself and delete apps.
